View Full Version : 2D Shape Edit to the plane I want!! Damn UED

Anyone know how to get a shape made in the 2D editor to extrude to the plane I want.. After making a door/arch, I tried rotating the darn thing all over the place and never could get it to align right so that it was standing UP facing FRONT.. The left/right mouse buttons always rotate it relative to some f****d up axis. Sheet is better. It lets you pick the plane to build the sheet on to start.. I thought I got it to work once but haven't been able to duplicate it since.

Is the problem due in part to which vertex i select to rotate it? Would picking the center vertex help there?

Make your shape, extrude on the Y axis. It should be placed upside down now, so select the middle vertex marker thing and rotate it upside down. Should work then.

Hmmm, my whole problem with shapes in UED2 is that it doesn't allow you to select any axis to extrude to.. just the size.

I can't remember if it was available in UED1 and got dropped in 2. Or is there a way to select the Y-Axis that doesn't show up on the screen? Do I have to have a window selected before I extrude to determine the axis?

Where would the selection thing be to select an axis?

Oh, in ued2 you can't select. it exturde on the Z axis, as a room outline. you will have to rotate from the left/right wireframe view and set accrodingly.
