The Gun Recognition books are okay. I have one of them. The information is very brief and the way the books are organized are not to my liking. I guess all of their "poor man's" products aren't that great but I'm guessing their true $1000+ volumes are pretty nice.

personally i like epic megagames. back when they were the worlds leading producer of shareware. i still love omf2097. really challenging on a modern pc.

My fav. company? The people at Nvidia. Here's the reasons I don't like other companies:

Blizzard: Ok, but they can't seem to understand what "Networking Code" means. It means they need to make it work for 56kers too, not just DSLers ;)

Epic: They don't understand what system reqs mean :P

Microsoft: Duh. Could they have made windows any more of a monopoly?

AOL: Home to thousands of pedophiles world wide!

Yahoo: AOL + MS Wannabee.

Runner up to my fav. company is Sentry Studios ;)

i think epic understands what system reqs mean. i remember seeing early screen shots for ut back when it was going to run on a 486. omf ran damn fast on a 486 and decent on a 386. i played unreal and ut both forever on a p120 in software rendering mode, and that's not even close to the minimum requirements.
