Well, I stumbled across this little .au file.
For some time there has been arguments over how to properly pronounce Linux.

Well here's Linus himself and here's how he pronounces it. (for the record I've always pronounced it wrong)

I like to say Lie-nux.

And my dad annoys me by saying Lin-ux

Now that that's over with, I was on gamespy the other day and I wonder, how many of you guys pronounce gibs as 'jibs' ?

Actually Lin ux would be the correct pronounciation for Americans as you have to take into account how accents change how a word sounds.

For example the classic german to english "w". "When" officially does not sound like "vhen" This Linux is pronounce with an "ih" not an "ee" for Americans and other English speaking countries

Or we're just selfcentered bastards who think that we are always correct and the world should **** themselves :p
