I was playing SoF online and everyone seems to run around cluelessly like a bunch of DMers, and this game has got ALOT of potential, so I was wondering if anyone here likes to play it like its a realism game? like me. :)

I never really got into Soldier of Fortune. I didn't find it to be all that realistic, more like another Quake-engine game trying to pass off as realistic. I always thought it was funny how one of the main draws to that game was the fact you could blow arbitrary limbs off people. We're some sick son of a bitches, us humans.

i like too. i just kept playing the single player over and over. even their bots are so completely different from the single player ones. too many games are that way. i tried the swat 3 elite demo. can't find anybody that wants to play it multi player though. but against the ai in a deathmatch running around with an m4 and cmags seems to be 2 easy. just the way it works. in single player games you gotta be sneaky. few people have that kind of patience though. about the best i've found that worked as a realistic style game play was heavy gear 2. but mplayer kinda killed it.

i think alot of it will be affected by the maps. deathmatch may be different but i think assault might be normal. i have full faith that the infteam will make anyadjustments nessisary to keep it realistic.

like i said though heavy gear 2 was about the best game i've found as far as using realistic tactics in multi player even though your driving a round a big suit of armor. sniping was cool but balanced by other guys. and if you sniped you had tomove after each shot or get your butt wasted.

what i'm more affraid of is the problems that tribes has. everyone wants to either snipe or play an aggressive forward position. nobody wants to fix things, nobody wants to defend. no body wants to be artillery. and so on. but i think inf looks like it might be fairly dominated by clans or atleast semi organised groups.

The game has potential but nothing enough to keep a croud intrested enough to prove itself. That is why everyone plays deathmatch style.
