Whats better ADSL or Cable? I was planning to get cable but I recently heard some bad things about it. So now I'm thinking of getting ADSL. Anyone out there know which one is better?

My guess would be that your mainly interested in bandwidth right!? (That was hard)
As you might know, the speed you get on ADSL is inversely propertional to how far away you are from the local exchange thingy.
Therefore, on ADSL you will get at least, what is it....1/2 M/bit per second.
Whilst Cable users will get a standard 2Mbit per second.
HOWEVER, if you live right next door to the local DSL exchange (which is unlikely, but possible) you can get up to between 52 M/bit to 200M/bit per second with ADSL, which is pretty DAMN fast 2 say the least. (faster than most LAN connections)
Cable users, will always het 2M/bit per sec, no matter how close you are, and also there are other rumoured security issues surrounding cable modems.
Getting to the point, my reccomendation would be ADSL (having got it myself) I speak with experience! :D
But, HEY it's your money!

Better safe than sorry, so I would go with cable, BUT if your close to the internet provider that has adsl[or whatever] I would go with that, but if adsl costs like 200 $ a month, but its fast and cable is only 100$ per month then I would go with cable.

Cable! I pay $30 a month and have gotten over a meg a sec on this baby. The only dsl company that could suply me with their services would have to overcharge since I am over 18,000 ft from my telephone company and it would have been **** speed too, I also recently think I heard they went out of business. Oh well, go with cable, it rules. :)

I guess when I move up north I'll just have to check into cable internet, because, right now I couldn't surive without a fast internet connection.
