I'm totally with you on this Buddy Pickle. I think back to when I was 12, the innocuous interests my friends and I had, and then look at something like this... Just makes me shake my head... :(

But in all fairness I don't think Deathren should be banned just because of his age. It seems that all of you guys are using this as an excuse to ban him...

Now I'm not saying that I like Deathren, and im not saying I don't. So theres an un-biased opinion for you guys.

Personally, I'm 16(one month from 17) and I always felt like the youngest one here...untill I learned about deathren's age a couple of months back....and if you get rid of him then I probably WILL be the youngest one here!

But hey, ban him if you want it really doesn't matter to me, I'm just saying that banning him because of age is stupid and senseless.

The only reason This would be sensible is if you took the ban off one year from now when hes elligible to post.

Though I do believe that DD should be banned from the forum, I was playing Wolfenstein for the first time when I was 8 (think I was that young... 17 now, wolfen came out in '92 I think. Yup 8). Except even way back then, I was making new textures in wolfedit, so I did have a reason to be there. People can be mature at 12, Deathren is just not one of them.

One thing that annoys me is the notion that if someone under the age of say 18 has an interest in firearms that they are a loony or potentialy dangerous. (don't allow yourselves to be brainwashed by the media :rolleyes: )

How is an interest in firearms different then an interest in cars (hell he won't be able to drive for at least 4 more years)?
I was reading about guns and cars and all sorts of stuff at that age that many people might not think was "Age Appropriate" (How appropriate for a 12 year old is Azimov's Foundation series, or the Lord of theRings, both of which I read before 12).

I don't think he's dangerous or anything more then a jerk who's pissing people off.

well, bows, crossbows, ect. where orginaly designed to kill. But they are also used for targeting. I have seen 10 year olds use them before.

however a obsession with combat arms, and not targeting weapons is not healthy. At that young age the concept of death is not totaly understood, unless your parents specificly sat down and explained it to you, which is rare today. :(

For a long time (possible centuries) boys have been interested in and built models of battleships and field artillary pieces. Later they built models of military aircraft and tanks. Playing soldier and building scale models of famous battles. All of this is considered normal behavior for a boy.

All of these big machines are made to kill people with, but if a kid develops an interest in small arms he should see a psychiatrist??

I'm not advocating that this kid be allowed to take a machine gun to school for show and tell, but I don't think that the interest in machine guns or handguns or rifles, even at a young age, makes you crazy.

DD is a perfectly normal kid. I admit by 12 i was completely obsessed with guns. i knew what an mp5 was blah blah blah. i bought catapults/air rifles anything i could. its just cool at that age. even now i love playing with air guns coz its fun. And i defy any one to say i am even slightly violent or maladjusted nowadays(or ever).

Happy birthday DD. you admitedly can be an annoying little kid but i dont mind you. You are being taught a valuable lesson in knowing when to keep your mouth shut. and i think its fascile and very childish trying to get DD banned off the msg boards. grow up you guys an learn how to ignore kids. I agree with jonnyboy, unbiased opinions are what is going to solve the problem. So lets take a look at the basic facts.

1. He is illegally on these forums. (Litterally the law prohibits him from being here)
2. He is a poor example of what these forums represent. (He is disrespectful, rude, and to be blunt about the issue damnright disrespectful, not just to the members but of the games creators)
3. Finally, and a bit biased opinion, i think DD has an unhealthy growing interest in guns. Not to strike controversy, but lets say something did happen, and he did go nuts, not only would INF be shut down, but we would all be to blame. (Simply because we encouraged him)

Now keeping this in mind, I would ask in these forums best interest, as well as DD's best interest, for the forums moderators/admins, to make a decision about DD.
