Seems to be alot of comments on grammar and languaging, if the person states where they are from, on the profile to the left of the post, that should be taken into consideration. I guess if you didn't understand them, you should ask them to clarify anyway. My .65 cents American. :D

for gods sake people don't post currency amounts with out a unit or place.

there a lot of difference if i say i'm looking for a radio for around 100, is that $100 us, candain? is it 100 yen, rubels, clam shells? i think that's more annoying.

Tell me about it, it starts getting pretty damn anoying after some time.

I do the best i can at spelling, and i can do no more than that, us none english speaking people have to work just a bit harder to get ouer opinions across!

And just to be honest, it can get quite demoralising when u try to state an opinion, and some yank rags it all down with a simple "When you can spell that, i'll take it serious".

What the **** more do u want from me!

I don't think you were particulary the target of the topic...

You are, i am etc.. Because We live in non english-speaker country. (Reamrk: I love your country. I have a lot of good souvenir ;)

When I see 'mericans who can't spell or use good grammar it annoys me.

But the very fact that people like Goat ****er and DarkBls are even here, communicating in a language they probably don't use at home, work or with friends. That says a lot about them.

Frankly I've seen some of the worst English from English speaking folk here on the forums.

Anyone who attacks people for whom English is their second language for poor grammar/spelling should (and after this probably will) be smacked with Thrash's rolled up newspaper (it may be someone else swinging it but rest assured you'll be smacked).

And some of you wonder why so much of the world hate us Americans

BTW, I've posted it here a few times, but there is an excellent spell checker that works in most any edit box (although I haven't reinstalled it since I installed WinME). Anyway, it's free...get it here...(it covers several languages too)

I am from the US and my spelling and grammar sucks. I have noticed that most of the people from non-English speaking countries have a better grasp of the language that I do :)
Thanks Zundfolge. No more copy and pasting from Outlook :D

well, I'm from Australia and I'm only a teenager and sometimes my spelling can be a bit off. That's because I type fairly fast and I don't touch-type

Otherwise I consider my english/grammer to be "pretty good"

"BEEEER!"

Yes, darkbls, I posted this after reading some posts where you in perticular were getting ragged upon for spelling, grammer, and such. Some was hard to understand, but like I said, ask what it means without putting "your grammar sucks," before the question. I think its great so many people from other countries are part of this or any other North America based site/forum.

Lord Bunker- What I was getting at was Canada's crappy currency rate right now, which last I checked was about .65 cents American for 1 cent Canadian. :)

I don't know why it annoys you Zundy. Correct use of our language really isn't important when you think about it. If it's not an antecedence to them and I understand what they are trying to say, there's no harm done. The amount of derision that is projected on them to ameliorate their inadequacies isn't necessary IMHO. If they are inept or infelicitious in their statements, then it is somewhat "annoying".
When someone is meticulous or exorbitant in their phrases(as I am doing purposely), that can be just as annoying, which is something I personally try to make contraindicated.

Hey Balli, did you just swallow a dictionary or something? I like to think I have a decent vocab, but even I had to look a couple of those up!

I totally agree about giving non-English speakers a break about their grammar and spelling.

Goat ****er: JEG have medfølelse med jeres beklagelse. Den er ikke nem at indtale eller skriv i en anderledes sprog. Men af det at skrive i engelsk, jer slå fast dig selv at blive smerter end den fjolser hvem klandre jeres grammatik men kende bare en ugifte sprog.

WOW Alpha, definately a nice try there!
A few grammar ****ups, but understandable none the less :)

Now i doubt u speak danish, i think u're using some translation progie, that definately makes it harder!
(this is the spot where u should feel free to correct me if im wrong)

Just for fun, here's how i would write that:

Jeg har medfølelse med jeres problem. Det er ikke nemt at indtale eller skrive i et andet sprog. Men det at i kan skrive i engelsk, viser bare at i er smartere end de fjolser som klandre jeres grammatik, uden selv at kunne mere end et sprog.

Few minor changes.

A translation progie... hmm... they have those? I'll have you know I'm fluent in 35 languages!!! j/k

No, actually I only speak English & Spanish. The rest is algorithmically-based...

You know, I've been having fun posting in the Infiltration Germany forums using my "little progies" (they actually work, if a little marginally). It's a small community at this point, but pretty close-knit. And they're anticipating INF 2.85 every bit as much as the rest of us are...

Anyway, this is the internet were talkning about here. A lot of times, people just don't care to check their spelling or grammar. Plus, I have to put up with my "I" key sticking sometimes so I might screw up my spelling. Most people type faster than they talk so I'm sure these people don't have as bad of grammar as it seems.

Goat ****er, I've never actually seen you make any spelling or grammar mistakes that I (having spoken english all of my life) wouldn't, couln't, or haven't made. I just assumed that you came from America (doesn't everybody? ;) ), and I never even noticed that it siad that you were from Danemark. The same is true for most other people on these boards. Half the kids in my english class speak english worse than you can. SO don't worry about the occasional spelling error - It happens to everyone.

Anybody who says otherwise is a compulsive freak.
(no offense to any compulsive freaks out there...You know who you are.)

Well, i have been speaking english for a long time, since before i started school actualy.
Sound strange? well most television here is imported, we get allmost all the same crap u guys are watching in yank land...only slightly later, and when i was a kid, there was only one channel that had cartoons all afternoon, a brit channel called "The childrens channel". Now i was allways a lonely kid, not many other kids lived out here, all too old to want to play with me anyways, so i watched allot of tv, there simply wassent anything else to do.
Obviously, watching cartoons when u cant understand a word spoken is not much fun, so i set on a quest to learn english, and could allmost understand it fluently by the time i hit school!
