Does anyone know of any free tutorials for just sketching and drawing things? (People, objects, plants) A web-page like that would definately be more than helpful. And I'm just too lazy (and lacking in funds) to go to a real art school. Thanks. :)

Well, if you're into anime and manga, Solace (http://www.jdillon.net/index2.html) (formerly known as Julie's How To Draw Anime) is a great place to start.

it depends really on what it is you like to draw/paint or sketch. while although i can't offer you any online tutorials, i feel i should point you in the direction of your local library. There's a massive collection of how to draw books out there. My advice would be to start witht the smaller easier ones. You probably will want to work on your basics before you start learning human anatomy.

Your first objectives should be the understanding of your tools. Experiment with drawing different types of lines, and holding your pencil or pen in different manners. Mess around with shading, even with ink. Like try to draw a percenatge bar from 0-100% darkness. If your just starting out i'd say stick with your #2 pencil, but if you wanna spend some money you can get some artistic pencils, which you might find better suited to your "style".

Once your comfy with your pencil, learn the basics of proportions, and perspective.

If your drawing people i'll give you some helpfull proportions.

i'd say try the library. if you are attending any school try their libvrary. otherwise try the public library.
