(whoops accidently put this in the wrong forum, here is where it should be )
Well I think I will start off by saying this is easily the best mod for UT. Easily. The next thing I would like to bring up is the fact that for me it currently works about 5-6 starts then the game crashes out with some long line of crap and refuses to start up again. At first I thought it was a problem with UT so I reinstalled and once again it just happened. I am sorry but I do not have the exact error it gave me, but its the tipical ut engine thing like blah < setinfo blah< blah blah blah < blah and like 4 or 5 lines of it. I dont suppose any of you could come close to fixing that because I dont have any information about it but just to let you know- it is not bug free. I'll go over the manual a couple hundred more times and see if it fixes, otherwise I"ll just reinstall UT twice a day... Ummm another thing- you guys should maybe get some orginal sounds going on. I'm not sure on the whole copywriting of sounds, or if you even can- but I noticed someone said your sniper rifle and deagle has the same sounds as rogue spear or something and your knife sounds are the same ones as counter-strikes. This brings me to another thing- your sounds are pretty lame. Worst thing about the mod would be your sounds. I'm not sure if this is UT engine related or not but the sounds from CS is considerably better. Last issue- The weapon models/skins pretty much look like ass when you bring them up to 'aim' with. I'm sure this will get fixed- but ever since I've played INF the models look crappy when you bring them up. Ahh two more things I"ll rant about- I like the M16 from 2.75 better- it seemed more crisp. Now its like (imho) the worst gun in the game. Useless up close because of the 3 round burst (no full auto, but that's real) and useless at range (Too much recoil to sniper effectively with). I think i'll stick with the mp5 with silencer (OOwwwww btw- that is the coolest sound ever for that gun.. piff piff). Umm well there you have it. Go ahead and flame me because your opinions differ--

Yeah right. Neo sat on his ass for 6 months and at the last second, thought, "Oh crap! We need a sound for the DE! I'll just copy the RS sound. No one will know." Do you honestly think they are that apathetic about the production of this game to do something that stupid? Hypothetical situation: We both own a .357 Mag DE. Wouldn't they sound pretty much the same when fired? So if RS accurately modeled the sound, and Neo accurately modeled the sound at a later date, might you mistake the INF modeled sound as being ripped off from RS? If they were both accurate, then of course they sound the same. Just like both of our Desert Eagles we own.

I've never personally heard these guns in real life, and I am willing to bet that you haven't either, except through Hollywood. So yes, the INF team could just make up a sound and call it the DE .357 sound. But they have something that convinces me otherwise: credibility. Most of these guys have served in the military, and have heard these sounds firsthand. So, that credibility is all I need to believe them.

Nice sounds, Neo.

Boy do I see things differantly!!!!

Ok, first off, I thought the sounds were awsome (yes, I have cs, 1.75. and RS). For once, the sounds actually match the reload animations. And as for the weapon firing sounds, they arnt all exadurated like in CS (they arnt real weapons sounds). The sounds in 2.8 were almost dead on the real thing (yes, I have heard a beretta fire, and M16 in real life). I think the sounds in this mod are the best I have ever heard, they are simply flawless.

oh yeah, and the prone position only worked when I went under small areas...the buttons never worked, nor the tap forward twice method

My only complaints however were the ****ty frame rates I got (which is strange cuz I have a PIII 733, 160MB PC-100, GeForce DDR - 800X600 32bit) also, the AKSU skin didn't quite look finnished, but I suppose you guys just decided to throw it in as a surprise anyway so that dont bother me too much. Also, the interface in the menu was terrible, too many catagories where they were not nessesary, (eg. 2 key control menus). There were also some strange jerks of the screen when in aiming mode.

Well, aside from those very minor issues, Id rather of had 2.8 now, than later.

Well obviously we can't please everyone. Having said that, I agree everyone's entitled to thier opinions.. except when they accuse us of ripping off other people's work. I won't tolerate accusations like that in my house. Feel free to argue that mute point on another non Inf forum. There is absolutely no way to logically argue this, other than it's your word against mine. I respect that you think our work isn't on par with a free project. Call me a thief and it's doubtful anyone will listen to anything you have to say in the future. I hope I have everyone's attention.. unlike other projects out there, Infiltration is 100% original from the minds and bodies of the Infiltration team. I can't stress that enough because there's no way in God's Green Earth I'm going to sit here and let some gamer tell me I've ripped off someone else's work.

I apologize for the outburst, but we worked our asses off - and it was not to be accused of something so petty.

by taking exerpts from various real sound samples from videos and the exact weapons (or close cousins), collaberating with folks like ShakKen and Gryphon who know more than most will ever, and using the skills Neo has gained over the years.

Hey ]3oXsTe]2

Sheesh! What the hell does that spell? Any ways, try turning on "dodging" for UT and see if that lets you go prone. The hold keys aren't activated right now, so your only option is to double-tap forward/backward, but that only works if you have dodging turned on. Good luck.

Guys, I LOVE this game. The sounds absolutely ROCK (I love the sound of the S'd MP5 - only thing that even comes close is the one in Delta Force 2, and that's a horrible comparison). It does seem like the M16 doesn't always want to fire right away when you pull the trigger, but since we're talking about sounds here, they're great.

Okay, hang on. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, and the first time I tried to write this I went back and erased it, but I'm actually going to say it this time. Keep in mind that there was some background noise at the time but, I'm not all that thrilled with the walking sound. It just doesn't quite "sound" like combat boots clomping along - it _almost_ sounds a little more like dress shoes. Like I said, there was some background noise so I haven't gotten a real close listen yet, and I CERTAINLY don't want to detract from ANY of the great work you've done. It's just my 2 cents.

]3oXsTe]2, if you're getting bad a framerate, try changing your color depth to 16bit if you already haven't. I had a similar problem until I did this.

gun sound realism?

They did an excellent job - I've fired a Taurus 9mm (very close to an M9) and a DE .44, and those are both quite accurate. The others I haven't heard first hand, but they sound 'right' to me =)

Great work guys!
