Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

yeah, I let 2.8 download over night, and when I awoke to install it, it gave me a CRC error; I dl'ed it from FilePlanet. so I have a couple of questions: 1. did anything like this happen to anyone here? 2.how long to do think it'll be until 2.8 is on a PC-magazine disk?

I use DownloadAcceleratorPlus (Go!Zilla is not that good, because with Go!Zilla you can have 0KB/s over a long period of time, but not with DAP)over night and had no Problems. /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif DAP even shuts down my computer. I have downloaded it from Fileplanet (UMOD).

I do hate to say it, but as far as I know, it's your only choice. Folks like Preacher and the Gamespy staff and others have mirrored the main Inf game and map UMOD files in places. Here are their links. Keep trying man- you gotta play this! If you have friends with high speed internet, get them to hook you up!

Use wget, it's clearly the best for those things, since it's less likely to crash. Don't think it's avail for windows through.
For big downloads I just ssh to my server, put it downloading and disconnect, it has some 30 days uptime atm (had to update kernel), so it's quite unlikely to crash /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
But then, I have ADSL, Inf 2.8 isn't a big download for me /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
I think there is one cURL for windows, it's text based and kinda like wget. It's free, doesn't nag you about anything and supports a wide range of protocols.
