When the grenade hits something at close range, it doesnt explode but still does some "metal-chunk" damage. I think its good - but is it real?

baseball

Well, it's more like being hit by a really sharp baseball that's going really fast. Infiltration probably dumbs down how much damage being hit by the unarmed shell would actually do, for gameplay reasons.

Won't the real grenade explode in this situation...?

You shoot the ground right in front of you, It hits and then bounces 70 feet in the air, then falls back down.

IT doesn't in the game but wouldn't It explode the second time it hit the ground because It would have had time to arm by then.

No, it won't explode on its second hit. The arming system is activated by the spin imparted by the barrel rifling, and if the grenade hits something before arming the spinning action of the grenade is interrupted. To be honest, at present the Inf grenades arm after travelling 14 meters but actual 40mm grenades aren't nearly as precise, and arm anywhere from 14 to 25 meters. We'll probably incorporate a randomness to the arming system to take this into effect. :)

The unarmed grenades shouldn't bonce off players at all. They are too sharp and solid to bounce, they'd be more likely to get lodged in your flesh and kock you flat on your ass. I saw an x-ray of this on TV once someone had to have a grenade removed from deep in his leg, it was a training accident. I think it was launched out of a m203 (or similar) launcher launched at a fairly close range.

thanks for the answer .

I didnt know it had a spin arming mekanism. Seems smart enough not to hurt the firer by mistake.

KEEP IT IN :)
