I'm making some custom textures for my level, but I was wondering what the maximun size (diskspace, not pixel measurements) a custom texure should be? 25kb, 500 kb, etcetc..
Any one got any ideas about his one??

There is no limit to file size, (not that I know of).
Are you having trouble importing textures ?

Nah, I just wanted to know if anybody knows is there is a max texture size. I mean I can make 5 textures of 1 Mb each, but then I think the map will run pretty crappy (to say the least)..

I'm a Mac-man with no UnrealEd, but as a pro Photoshop user, I make custom textures for a friend that's a mapper.
From what I know, there is no size limit.
Textures should just follow the industry standard of being 256x256 pixels, 128x128, 64x64, etc.... Obviously, the bigger the file size, the greater the resolution, and the larger area you can lay them across.
You can have non-square textures in UnrealEd, but since I don't have it, I couldn't confirm the working process of applying them.

Though I didn't spell it out...I will just to be safe...the size in pixels will determine the file size. I saw that you wrote "not pixel measurements," but pixel size will determine file size.
You need to figure out first what size (256x256, etc...) looks good for where you need it. A small beam might only require 64x64pixels, and a big wall might require 256x256 to look good....
