My problem is lining up my brushes. I find it very difficult to make ramps line up perfectly to floors (say the ramp and the floor are 64 in height). Is there an easy way to line these up or is there a technique I need to employ? thanks.

I tend to build anything complex outside of my level and then import it. With ramps I always have problems lining them up exactly so I build a cube that is the height of the ramp and the length of the entire hallway and then remove a brush set at the angle I want the ramp to be set at. This leaves no overlaps... just a nice smooth change in direction.
I don't think I explained that too well. It would've been easier with a diagram... sorry :(
