I've been playing with INF since it was out and have loved it. Great mod, I can't wait to try it online. I've also been watching to post for problems and bugs but I have yet to see this one posted.

I've found that the AK with the Drum magazine is a great surrpresion weapon on assults. It works great for keeping the bots at bay on the stairs in Pump Facility. But as most people know auto reload is a no no. It's much quicker to swith weapons. So I turn it of in the option. Only problem is that when you switch to the drum magazine with the AK it auto reloads. It works fine with the standard clips but I'm guessing that because it's considered an attachment it being handled differently.

It really sucks when you hear the click of the bolt. /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif But it's even worse when you hit the quick action to at least bring up you side arm and instead the drum reloads and after all that your side arm sometimes comes up. Though at that poi nt I'm usually just getting my daily intake of lead, and or buckshot from the friendly enemy.

Other than that and some of the other little things that people have stated, all in all the best mod I've seen.

Another problem with the drum magazine is that you automatically start out with a standard magazine, regardless of which you select. If you choose the drum magazine, you have to empty the original magazine and reload before it'll switch to the drum.

Sorry to disappoint someone, but my drum mag works fine.
True, you have to switch to the drum every time you respawn, but changeing from standard to drum is no problem - instant, without having to hit the reload key.
Same for autoreload, with my system I just empty the drum mag, hear a click and then I may reload, or switch to another weapon..
I really like that AKMSU!

I'm only having the reload problem. I figured the magazine made sense. When you buy a gun it usually comes with a clip. Changeing to a moddified clip would definetly take a proactive approach.

I don't know it it would make any difference that I'm on a Mac. I know there a few different files (that whole init_iSoldier thing.) But i'm guessing that the reloads and the like are in a file that is the same on both. I'll have to try it at my other machine to see if I'm just missing a setting or something.

Though I guess as of now I'm just going crazy, since it's only me. /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I found out a way of getting around having the AKMSU always start with the drum mag instead of the clip.

All you have to do is loadout your soldier with only drums and no clips. Then he'll start and always use the drum. Other than weight, I haven't found any drawbacks to this, though I'm sure there has to be some reason for offering both clip and drum for a gun like this (lower accuracy, more jamming?)

I've tried that before but it did't go!

I went back to really take a close look at the problem I was having and it was not quite what I thougt. The auto reload only happens when I expend the last bullet from the last standard clip and only have drums remaining. Basically the AK comes with a clip. If you don't switch to the drum and use up the clip first it will auto load the drum. At least on both my setups.

As for it coming with a clip, like I said before. I can't imagine a firearm not coming with one. All the other ones in the game come with a clip loaded. Any that you add to the loadout are extras. So if you get MP5 and 2 clips, then you have 3 clips. The one with the gun and the 2 extra you brought along.

But as for the Drum bug. Is anyone else having the same problem.
