For no reason I can identify, the transparent areas in the overhead walkways will switch to solid black every so often. Any advice?

but it does look like a video driver related issue... try the newest ones, or maybe one of the older ones if they don't work.

It would appear to be so, here is a hint aswell. If you are using a Voodoo 3, use older drivers. I found that when I used the most current with my display adapter it made things worse. All I did, was install the ones that came on the CD I recieved with my card. This may not effect you, but its an idea if you are using current drivers. Try to go back, sometimes it works out. ;)
