I just got Infiltration today, it looks pretty cool, however unless i get some help ill never know.

I have installed INF correctly(as far as i know, i read the manual) i start up INF and i get to the screen that says infiltration on it before the menu, then i press esc and it acts like its loading the menu and then crashes to my desktop with an error that says that i dont have enough virtual memory, im curious to what exactly virtual memory is, i know i have 192 megs of RAM, and i can run HL and normal UT just fine and dandy, i have the latest patch for ut and version 1.82 of infiltration.

I spent some time trying stuff out and now i come to you all, i tried searching the forum and trying various other fixes previously posted but nothing has worked. Please for the love of god help me. :( :( :(

If you're on a Mac, shut off Virtual Memory if you have at least 128M of RAM.
If you're on a Windows machine, don't screw with Virtual Memory unless you really know what you're doing (if you did, you wouldn't be asking this question).

I'm assuming you're on a Windows machine.

Virtual Memory is basically where you're computer pretends that some hard drive space is RAM, so if you have less then say 300M of HD space, throw some stuff away, if that doesn't work wipe UT off the machine and reinstall it, then all the patches and then Inf then Inf's patches.

The closest thing to VM settings that I would mess with in Windows is...
go to control panels
then System Properties
Under the Performance tab there is a button for "File System"
click it and in the dialog that opens up, change "desktop computer" to "Network Server". (this is a good idea anyway, it will make your machine run a little bit more efficiently, I don't even know why they give you the choice to run as a Desktop Computer anyway)
