Ok, so now I have Infiltration 2.80, but I also have an older version, and at Catgory it says "Infiltration", but there is also "Infiltration 2.80". When I choose the first, I will start in the level but it's on Stand-off mode or whatever, and the weapons don't fire. And in the other one, I don't get to choose a game type and I start with the regular UT weapons. WTF is going on here?! What can I do about it? It's really driving me nuts.

I have the same categories... 'Infiltration' and 'Infiltration 2.80'... I have not tried selecting the 2.80 one...just always left it at the default 'Infiltration'.
If I DO try to change it to Infiltration 2.80 or UnrealTournament, the game crashes and I get a critical error. Then anytime I try to run the game again I get a general protection fault. I have to reinstall...
If I recall properly mine always says stand-off mode (whatever that is) but I can shoot and get shot...
Anyone from the Infiltration Team out there?

How many times do I have to say this? READ THE F*CKING MANUAL (http://www.planetunreal.com/infiltration/manual)! You don't start Infiltration 2.80+ from inside Unreal Tournament. You have to start it from the Infiltration28x link in your 'UnrealTournament/System' directory.

No need to be vulgar... I dont believe either one of us are...
Read my signature, then read my posting again...
Nevermind, I'll explain. Start a local war, and the first dialog that is put up gives the type of game...hit that pull down list that says infiltration...

Okay, so I installed the 2.80 map pack with the UMOD, have UMODed version 2.82. So how do I start it? I didn't get the damn manual. What do I have to do to run it all properly?

the manual is on-line, not part of the download(hopefully it will be when it's a bit more complete), specifically, you'll want to look here (http://www.planetunreal.com/infiltration/manual/install.htm)
i'll assume you're installing on a PC? here, i'll even quote the relevant parts of the manual:
Creating your Infiltration shortcut:
This step is REQUIRED to run Infiltration 2.80.
Creating your required Infiltration shortcut is quick and easy. Just follow these steps and you won't have any problems. Remember, Infiltration 2.8x requires UT patch 428 or better!
If you have UT patch 428, go into your \unrealtournament\system directory, and right click the Infiltration280.lnk shortcut and choose "Properties".
Now edit the path of the file in the Target location. (Example: C:\UnrealTournament\System\Infiltration280.exe entry.unr USERINI=Infiltration280User.ini)
* Using this patch, you will see a custom Infiltration splash screen load. Currently, you can only see this using the UT 428 patch.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you have UT patch 432 or better, go into the \unrealtounament\INF_Setup directory, and double click the Infiltration280.bat file. (This will make the shortcut functional.)
Go into your \unrealtournament\system directory, and right click the Infiltration280.lnk shortcut and choose "Properties".
Now edit the path of the file in the Target location. (Example: C:\UnrealTournament\System\Infiltration280.exe entry.unr USERINI=Infiltration280User.ini)
* Anytime you install a new UT patch, you must run the first step over again. (running the .bat file)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If neither of these will work for you, go into your \unrealtournament\system directory, and right click the Infiltration280Alt.lnk shortcut and choose "Properties".
Now edit the path of the file in the Target location. (Example: C:\UnrealTournament\System\UnrealTournament.exe entry.unr USERINI=Infiltration280User.ini INI=Infiltration280.ini LOG=Infiltration280.log
after doing these, you'll start up INF using the shortcut you just created. INF 2.82 CANNOT RUN/BE SELECTED AS A MUTATOR WITHIN UT.
after you startup INF from the shortcut, you will have "Infiltration" and "Infiltration 2.8" as category options. ALWAYS LEAVE THIS SET AS JUST "INFILTRATION"
also, i've never tried to do this so i don't even know if it'll let you, but did you apply the 2.82 umod to 2.80? because 2.82 requires that 2.81 be installed first

in version 2.82 it creates a link in your start menu... It has always worked fine for me. Are there any issues with this that anyone knows about?
Also, when updating to 2.82, ensure you download and install 2.81 also - they seem to be incremental...i.e. you have to do 2.80, then 2.81, then 2.82... I have also always installed the 2.80 map pack before I installed 2.81... Don't know if any of this matters or not...can anyone confirm?
