Crouching down stairs

I searched the entire site, not just Troubleshooting, and could find no reference to another problem:

I can move up stairs in a stealthy crouch, but when I try moving downstairs in that position, I get "stuck" on each step and have to rise to a standing position in order to continue down the stairs. Is this an Inf bug, or a map problem?

I read somewhere....

from someone on the team that it's almost impossible to crouch going down stairs. Try it. You do have to stand up a bit. It's intentional.
