I am downloading the 5 part umod main install of yr site.However when i get to part three it comes up with a blank screen and some kind of error message that tells me to reload the page.I have tried doing this and it still ****s up.Please has anyone got any alternative download locations for this part of the thing.Or can someone fix this fault.Please i really want this mod.

DB: that's the webpage that #17 on "Read Before Posting Problems" directs him to.

i just took a look at it to see what he meant and the problem is that you have the split file for download via http and ftp, but it doesn't specify whether it's the manual install or the UMOD install.

and also one I've got all the files how do i install them theres nuthin in the manual about how to install split files. :confused:

ok ive had enouh now i can't be botherd getting this mod.I download all the file from bdy frame then used file merge file merge worked fine.it came to the end and told me all your files have been merged lgout so i logout.Wow all my files have been merged somewhere ****ing else they have gone from my computer and dissapered now all i am loeft with is the file merge program after about 2 1/2 - 3 hrs downloading.Theres no way im doing it again.Its a nice looking mod put too much of a pain in the arse to get. :mad: :( :confused:

Well, that was unfortunate! I feel a little bad that this poor guy had so many problems with downloading and installing the mod. Of course if Lemming had just downloaded the ENTIRE umod instead of the parts, this problem might have been avoided. Sorry guy 8(

actually this is just too good a mod to miss.So im gonna download it all again.I couldn't download it all at once before because i have a drap connection and internet provider (AOL :( )
but now i have real downloader that lets me continue downloads if my connection breaks.So ill just download full version.Anyway the question of this stupidly long post is.What is Linux? i dunno what it is and i can only hope ive got it???

Ok i finally have inf 280 and inf in my menu for UT after i used the umod to install it.hwever i don't have any maps 4 it and when i play a deathmatch under its name they just play normally.I'm presuming that i must have to have inf specific maps and so im gonna download one now...

I AM TOTALLY SICK OF THIS ****.
WHY CAN YOU NOT JUST CREATE A UMOD THAT WORKS EVERYTHING OUT FOR PEOPLE SO THEY CAN JUST PLAY YOUR MOD.Why oh why oh why do you have to go through loads of firectories and do things which by the instructions in the manual i am now toytally ****ing confused and have not got a clue what i am doing?.WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO??
i have read the bit on making a shortcut but all its done is confuesd me is this supposed to be a mod for only those whoo are total geeks and understand everything about their pc.Why has it been made so difficult.Don't bother flaming me for this cos im not coming back here.The way this mod installs sucks. :mad: :( :o :( :(

ok i am coming back again.I have doubled clicked on my .bat file and it tells me
"setup for infiltration 2.80 complete"
"please start Ut when you have the latest patch"
"have fun"

I know the game should work cos i got a patch a month ago so wtf does it tell me this.I would have fun if i could run your game but i can't so im going to complain instead.

ive now trued doing this from my systems directory thing i right clicked on my icon and wow theres no ****ing properties for the infiltration its a read only file.I still don't understand why you have made it so difficult to acsess the game?

Right, I have calmed down a bit now.Sorry for my outburst but I am getting severly annoyed with this setup.This is my problem.In the manual it tells me to open my infiltration shortcut and edit either by double clicking on my .bat thingy or by doing it manually through the properties menu on the shortcut.The problem i ahve with the .bat thing is that it tells me that i don't have UT patch 230 which seeing as i downloaded a patch not more than a month ago and installed seems a little ****ed up.
The problem with the second is that i don't have a .ink shortcut to infiltration i have a .exe one but nary a .ink shortcut in sight.
Now please please for the love of god someone help me before i go out and commit genocide. :(

i think you're making this more complicated than it has to be. to install INF on a PC this is all you need to do:

make sure you have UT patch 436 installed.
download the full 2.80 UMOD and install it.
download the Map pack UMOD and install it.(this is optional but i reallly reccomend it)
download the 2.81 patch(also a UMOD) and install it
download the 2.82 patch(UMOD again) and install it.

when you install the 2.82 patch it automatically creates a shortcut and places it in your Start menu.

that's all you need to do, no messing around with shortcuts or files or anything.

however, just to let you know, it's my belief(and i could be wrong so don't take it too much to heart) that version 2.85 will be out within two week at the latest. so maybe you should wait to download all the stuff untill then. 2.85 won't be a patch like 2.81 and 2.82 but a full install like 2.80 and will include many significant enhancements to the game(like a new gun, new player models, the bulk system and ONLINE PLAY :eek: ). but it's up to you, i just wouldn't want you to spend so much time downloading all the stuff only to have to download 2.85 a couple days later.

Hope you get everything running correctly there, Lemming.. Don't sweat it, I had problems installing Inf too(although nothing like yours)..now I have done it so much, I don't rund into problems. 2.82 pretty much solved any problems I had with installation. Have fun! :)

I downloaded 2.81 and 2.82 and it now works.I haven't downloaded the map pack yet just 2 custom levels from realmaps.com the game works fine and is really good fun to play.The only other trouble i had was working out how to aim at first but its right click and i understand now.ONly thing i don't like about the entire mod is the sounds.
It rocks :)
