View Full Version : Various and sundry crashes

A number of problems -

First, mouse lag. I remember I had this a looong time ago in UT with a TNT1, but I fixed it. Besides which, I now have a GeForce 2 GTS - UT runs flawlessly, and still Inf has a problem. Only way I can cut it down is to reduce my res to 640x480x16. If this is actual game-lag, I'd be surprised:

Athlon 750mhz
GeForce 2 GTS 64mb
etc

Second, crashes. If I run a standard game, I can start (mind, no mappack, so I'm just running on a standard DM map), but it then crashes with no error straight to desktop. This may or may not be "correct" behavior, I'm not sure, but currently downloading the mappack to test.

Also, minor issue - the silly thing detects my card as some odd TNT/TNT2 card I've never heard of. UT detects the correct GeForce 2 GTS.

Thanks!

addenum: it would appear most of my problems are only in the menu setup. Once I'm actually in the game, everything seems to run fine. I'm not entirely sure how to arrange all these extra keys, but at least the game runs ;)

some of the default inf setup comes from which ever member of the teams computer it seems to have been on. it'll default to the tnt2, d3d and so on. if you open up the console and type preferences you can get to the advanced options menu that will let you change all that stuff. make a note of what your ut settings are and then try to duplicate them as best you can. inf setting aren't mirrored to your ut settings.

No luck, but thanks anyways - dratted UT engine likes to try to run in windowed mode while preferences is active, and that crashes my game very quickly ;) Oh well, I'll just edit the ini's...
