Get rid of the angry face first of all. It just makes people not want to help you.
Now, give us more information.
Which iMac?
How much RAM do you have?
How did you install Infiltration?
Which version of Infiltration?
Did you go from 2.80 to 2.81 to 2.82?
Have you read this thread (http://unreal.infopop.net/OpenTopic/page?q=Y&a=tpc&s=10009422&f=28109062&m=314092636)?

It almost sounds like you have some corrupt files. They may be some sort of errors in your drive itslef. Run disk first aid, there is a newer version at apple's site, and have it repair any errors. I would also delete UT/INF and reintall it after you can run disk first aid and not have it find any errors. If you have disk warrior, tech tool or norton it probably would not hurt to run those aslong a you have the current versions. If you don't have the current version it's not a good idea to run them. Unless your sure that the version you have is ok to use with the OS version you have. Since your running 8.6 you have a little more leeway, but be sure.
Those would be my first seggestions. Let us know what happens.

was thinking the exact same thing Mac-Fodder, sounds like possible disk/file corruption

It is a bad file. You are going to have to redownload the mod and reinstall. I have had the problem come up and that is the only way to fix it. I would just wait for 2.85 unless you have a fat pipe connection :) it will be here very soon! ;)

when you say "reinstalled" what exactly do you mean. did you delete the entire UT folder and install from scratch or just install over what was already there? have you run any type of hard disc utilities yet?

I have a couple of questions for you......
1. Did you have the CD in when you up dated the patch? Not a disk image the Real UT CD.
2. Who is your internet provider?
3. What program are you using to unzip the patch and did you make sure that it is configured correctly?

Huummm Well I would try using Stuffit to unzip it. That may be the problem. Zipit will work but there are two things you have to do...
Open the program. Go to...
File/Prefrences/Compression and under Use Macbinery change to never
Now open...
File/Prefrences/Miscellaneous there is a line that says...
By default, smart-strip linefeeds from text files
Make sure this is not checked
That may fix it but I would get Stuffit it works better for Mac stuff.
Let me know what happens

stuffit does work better except for the INF launcher. though I don't know if that is still the case with 2.85 I have not had a chance to try it yet.
In any event. good luck.
