After switching to the new "Inf 285" I have ping-times between 300 and 800.
I have a 256k ADSL connection, and used to have pings on 90 on "Inf 275".
Any simple idea to what is wrong ?

Maybe your ISP has way more customers than when 275 was new, and how far are you from your ISP? I have cable and I get pings less than 200 on almost every decent server.
I poured spot remover on my dog once.... He's gone now.

Under the online settings of Inf 285, have you set your connection to high speed? (rather than modem). I think this probably isn't your problem, but its always worth checking.....

What server were you using, and where is it located. Apparently distance from the server can affect your ping. Though most of the servers I have played on are in OH so close minnesota or washington state. I'm in fl.

I have tried different settings in the networkspeed, no change.
The server (dedicated inf-server) is placed 150 miles away (have played on it before with pings on 80-90).
The games works fine offline.
