UT mac problem

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

Infiltration uses different INI files, which could be messing things up. Try downloading and installing the latest Mac Launcher, available HERE

Type 2 errors are caused by memory problems though. How much RAM do you have, and how much is allocated to UT (check by doing a "Get Info" on the UT application, and then selecting "Memory" from the dropdown).

Got Memory?

Crashes due to a lack of memory have increased, it appears, since INF 2.85 came out. It seems to be a *huge* memory hog.

If you browse throught the older posts, BA Baracus has helped a number of peeps and has posted again and again the steps to allocating proper amounts of RAM to INF and Unreal Tournament (especially Unreal Tournament, since it's doing all the work).

Heck, buy more memory. 256MB RAM for the G4 costs $65 at OtherWorld Computing. I ordered a stick from Ramjet for $99. It's more, but it's certified for OSX.

Certified for OSX? You have to be kidding

The current problems with RAM in Mac OSX is due to the fact that Mac OS X is meant to run properly with the newest Firmware, but that firmware is buggy and doesn't recognize some RAM if not paired up. Apple is already said to be working on a new firmware update the will fix this problem, and return things to the way they were; in that all RAM in your system will be properly recognized.

Unless OSX is so vital to you that you can't wait for that firmware update, I think you should've gone with the better deal.

So now it crashes your regular UT with Type 2 errors? What did you do since your last post?

INF should be installed onto a clean install of UT 436 (for best results).

And your system specs would still help alot in diagnosing this.
