I posted this under "Problems with Kosovo" in the General forum, though I would post it here because it's a troubleshooting problem, and also to put your names in the topic title to get your attention, hehe:

OK, I uninstalled the old driver according to the readme file instructions.

Like Mooser, UT and Inf will only run in a window. I recall that the last time I upgraded my driver this happened, but I don't recall how I fixed it. I think someone told me how to do it at the time.

The video is dark and contrasty, not pretty. It might have to do with the fact that it's running in the window.

My frame rate is around 6. I'm hoping this also is because it's running in a window.

There is an adjustment in Inf under Vid called Change Video Driver. I click it and it says it will restart Inf to let me do this. I know that when I installed Inf I chose glide. I don't want to click this now, do I? Or do I need to because I changed the driver?

Any help you can give is appreciated. I'm already going through Inf withdrawl.

I don't know if this'll help you but I had the same problem, after I updated those two .DLL files UT/Inf only ran in a window. I eventually got it running by checking the .INI file for these lines:

[WinDrv.WindowsClient]
WindowedViewportX=640
WindowedViewportY=480
WindowedColorBits=16
FullscreenViewportX=1024
FullscreenViewportY=768
FullscreenColorBits=16

Now this is under the WinDrv section, but if I'm not mistaklen you're going to have to change the one that correspondes to the driver you're using. When I finally got it working though I also had low FPS (according to timedemo 1). Now I had changed it to the GL drivers, and that's when I got all these problems. So I removed everything, re-installed UT, Inf, etc...and left it on the D3D settings, and it's been fine since then with about a 80 FPS (timedemo 1). I dunno if this is an option for you but maybe it'll giev you some insight..

Thanks for your help Wiseass. Here's mine:

[WinDrv.WindowsClient]
WindowedViewportX=1024
WindowedViewportY=768
WindowedColorBits=16
FullscreenViewportX=1024
FullscreenViewportY=768
FullscreenColorBits=16

I'm playing in that resolution. The other driver section, [XDrv.XClient], has 640 and 480 for both, which I assume it the default. I'm assuming WinDrv is what corresponds to my Voodoo card... . I don't see anything to change. ?

You said you have your setting on D3D. You don't have a Voodoo, or do you? My understanding from the previous posts was that this Iceman Voodoo 3 driver would not support D3D (although the readme files suggests it will if you have DirectX8 installed, which I do). If you do have a Voodoo, on D3D, not glide, and you're getting 80 fps...do you have a 5500 by any chance? Mine's a Voodoo 3 3000.

I'm actually running a Radeon 64 DDR which I believe is GL supporting but when I tried GL mode I had the same problem you described, it would only run in a window.

but I'm not familiar with the Voodoo line, I've got a voodoo 2 dual setup (SLI Mode) on one of my other machines, I'll have to check that one when I get home though..
