After installing the latest patch, I've been having this problem where the screen will flash every few seconds or so. I thought it was just with Infiltration, but then I loaded up normal UT, and the problem was still there, if not even worse. Then, I tried to play Deus Ex today, and the screen keeps flashing in that game, as well. This problem didn't appear until after I installed the 2.85.3 patch, could Infiltration have done something to my drivers, or something? Is there anything I can do to fix it? Please help me, I'm going mad!

Try going into the unrealtournament.ini and look under [WinDrv.WindowsClient], find ScreenFlashes, and set it to false. Not sure if this will work, because this never happened to me. I had a similar problem when I installed Serpentine for Unreal. Unreal and UT ran in a window, so I reinstalled them and the problem was gone.

Nope, no more ideas except waiting for 2.86. You said that this happened when you installed the 2.85.3 patch, so maybe it'll get fixed with 2.86.

I had this problem with playing another game (Everquest to be exact) and it happend to be the DirectX was messed up or something they patched didn't work with 7, I upgraded to DirectX 8 and it solved that problem. I'm running a Radeon 64 meg DDR but I don't know if that'll help. If you dont' have that perhaps try downloading it and see what that does. If you're not sure what version of Direct X you're running, click on START then goto RUN then type in DXDIAG and click ok. You should be able to tell from there what version you have installed..I'm not sure what the number should be for 8 as I don't have it installed here at work, but when I get home I'll check for ya..

Where can I get get Direct X 8? I downloaded the Direct X 8.0a runtime from the Microsoft website, but it says some package or other is incompatible with the version of Windows I'm running, even though I downloaded the version for Windows 98, which is what I have. Is there some other place I can get it?
