Since there's a large difference between hip shots and aimed shots, will the aimed shots have a slow-down effect while hipshots give a sped-up effect?

I know that running with equipment is not a problem. Most military outfits require a minimum speed run w/equipment. I noticed in the roadmap that "speed will be reduced to a walk with a button for a quick burst of speed", but is this really necessary? Running should be possible at virtually all times (with perhaps the exception of an over all stamina bar), and this makes hip shots/aimed shots of more strategic value. Yes, now you can run, but you won't be able to be as accurate. Now you can aim, but it may not be wise because others are aiming at you, and running might be better, and not just for a sprint.

When I say run, I mean jog. Sprinting should be the limited speed burst, but you should always be able to maintain a healthy jog. And if you aim, you should slow to a walk.

Hmmmm, I thought Warren said that the default speed would be a 'trot', basically a slow run... I thought it worked like this prone, walking, trotting, sprinting...trotting being the default...but the roadmap does not reflect this...wierd, and too bad, I agree that the trot would be the best default movement.

We may end up doing that since walking speed is pretty damn slow, but we will see. Keep in mind your sprinting speed won't decrease your stamina super quick, and it'll depend on the weight you are carrying.

Aiming your weapon will not change your speed by default however. You will have to slow your speed seperately. We may make it an option to do it automatically, again- just depends on time.

That's good that sprinting won't decrease stamina super quick, being that we are dealing with trained military professionals here. If my own stamina were to be implemented into the game however, you'd experience split-second stamina depletion. /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Trying to aim and slow down separately might be hard to control, depending on implementation. But it would probably be more realistic to keep them separate. You shouldn't be prohibited from trotting while aiming, or even a sprint/aim combo, even though your accuracy would be all over the place, and you might stumble, fall, and shoot yourself in the foot or something.

I hope you guys make the run button toggle-set.

I hate having to hold down buttons with my left hand while trying to move. Maybe when I get a 2-button mouse things will be easier.
