Overtly Serious Chappy.
This not so much a suggestion as a "Why not?" question. From my rather limited knoweledge of firearms, I seem to recall that the Glock is a widely used pistol. In fact it is due to replace the six-shooters as the police force's weapon of choice in my state. So why isn't it in Infiltration? Was it the fact that there are already 4 pistols slated for 3.0? Considering its popularity I doubt the inf team just 'forgot' about it.

Unfortunately, it turns out I'm the only glock fan in the team=) But it is something to look forward to post 3.0.

I know what you mean. Solid, Dependable, I still believe that only other gun that can match it's combat prowness is the USP.

I think part of it had to do with the fact that EVERY other real-life mod out there is modelling a Glock as well. Inf dared to be different and added the Five seveN instead.

Still, I wouldn't mind one too. How about a G36 for all the snipers out there as a backup piece? /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

the five-seven is definately the pistol i plan on using. it looks cool and it fires that tiny-ass 5.7mm bullet that goes through armor, just so cool. glocks are pretty damn sweet though, or at least the 17 is, the only one i've used. inf should put in, uh, the 18? i don't remember the number, the fully automatic one. i just remember reading about it at remtek when i first found the site last year, sounded really cool...

Again I think this goes back to the old "this is not a SWAT/Counter Terrorism mod, but a military mod" argument.

Glocks are widely used by law inforcement, but not military. Before we see a Glock, I think an HK USP 45 would be more appropriate, but realy I think there's enough handguns planned for the future of INF.

Now a few more sub machineguns and assault rifles would be cool (I seem to remember someone begging for an FAMAS) /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Wrong. The .45 is obsolete for military operations in most countries. The .40 looks to be the up and coming sidearm star.

No Army uses the USP .45 as yet. However, the Glock is already used in Austria and several other countries (also the favored sidearm of GSG-9).

The USP is however only used by a smattering of special forces and police groups.

If you hadnt noticed, we already have a FAMAS G2 STANAG in the armory;)

Desert Eagle or Glock?

The glock would be nice, but the DE is soooo much cooler, and more powerful. Stick with the DE. Have you ever heard of the Urban Sniper? It's a shotgun, only with a scope attached! /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

WRONG!!! Many US special forces members choose to use the colt 1911 .45, now that is stoping power!!

You wish. All US Special Operation personnel either use Beretta, Glock, HK or Sig. The 1911 is a non contender because in order to be suitable for combat it has to be customised. And the military insists on STOCK guns. Only the LAPD SWAT team still insist on using 1911s(now 1991a1). Albiet heavily modified.

.45 is second choice for special forces operations simply because it has one of the lowest ratings for body armor penetration. If you wan't to argue that it's easier to shoot a man in the face rather than hope for a lucky penetration, a 9mm fits that regard every bit as well as a .45.

FYI, the DE is the most overpimped crap handgun ever invented. There is no military unit on the face of the planet that uses or WANTS to use them.

No secret why not. Heavy, clumsy, prone to malfunction. You'd be dead before the fat bugger even cleared the holster. Let alone get to shoot back.

The DE is the perfect example of why bigger isn't always better.

a shotgun with a scope?
what's the use of that?
wouldn't the spread factor of a shotgun make it useless as a sniper?
