After thinking about the grenade-tossing problems, I've concluded that the BEST way to teach people how to throw in-game grenades is with a "play catch" mode. Just give one player a ball as his only weapon, he tosses it, the other player picks it up. That way to can concentrate on how to get the timing and aiming down.
