Ummm... Where to start? Mwa Hahaha! <evil laugh>
First: This isn't Strike force! :mad: :mad: :mad: Nor is it Tac Ops, Counter Strike, or anything else. Infiltration is closer to reality than all these mods put together.
Second: Infiltration isn't complete. If you had read the Roadmap (http://www.planetunreal.com/infiltration/roadmap.htm) (as outdated as it is), you'd know that the team is planning body armour. This is where penetration makes a huge difference (otherwise there is no point to having the FN 5.7-based guns in the game).
Third: I'm not 100% sure about this, but I'm pretty sure the Robar would have some difficulty blowing through concrete (depending on the thickness).

and by the way, the weapons in INF penetrate walls. You can take a look at the specs at RealMaps.

Come on, this guy was obviously jokeing.
Inf has penetration since 2.75(or was it 2.71?), and the different guns have different penetration.
He had to be jokeing.

IMHO i think that trowing **** to "newbies" sucks: i´ve noticed, by myself, that most of the penetration code IS NOT APPLIED IN MOST MAPS!!! SO **** OFF EVERYONE THAT DOES NOT SEE THAT JUST CAUSE HE HAS A FEW POSTS HE IS A NEWBIE!!! AND MORE U SH*ITHEADS: SOMEONE HAS ALREADY SAID THAT THERE ARE NO "NEWBIES" INF!!! Newbie isn't a number of posts, nor is it related to the date you joined. IMO a newbie is someone who repeatedly gives stupid ass suggestions, refuses to realise when he's wrong and writes things like "AND MORE U SH*ITHEADS".
You, Caverna, may have been here for a long time but you still act like a "newbie". What's up with the ALL CAPS messages, the name calling, the total lack of understanding when you're wrong?
Come on man, we don't need that sh1t here.
Now AFAIK, the penetration code IS applied to all maps with walls thin enough for a weapon to penetrate.

from my experience if it's like 2.75 it's based on the geometry so it would work in all maps. it can be affected by the mapper. for example. in as-pumpfac you would think you cold shoot through the mesh stuff as you go up the stairs but you can't cause it's not hollow so it thinks it's a really thick wall. but if you turn just as you enter you can shoot the bots through the stairs. it's thin there.
as with many things there is a point to which you are no longer a newbie. i haven't yet figured out what it is in the forum. maybe when you stop compairing inf to cs, sf, or to. i don't know. but like in golf when you finally realize you suck with your driver so you quite teeing off with it.

CAPS are used when emphasis is needed. Name calling is just something to provoke people. To say the´re being like CS ppl: prejudicefull about the new guys. Question answered?
AND: i´ve meant ALL maps, not only INF. Some ppl play INF in UT maps too... Just change the name.

Didn't someone just tell you it was based on the geometry of the map itself??? If that is true, then UT maps would work also. Unless gametype in LevelInfo has to be specified as an INF game. Someone research this for me?

I believe the wall penetration properties are applied globally when playing an Inf game, so if the bullets don't go through, the mapper either wanted it that way, or didn't know how thick to make his walls. And all-caps posts are just annoying. Assume that using caps is like shouting; nobody will listen to someone who shouts all the time.

Penertration Demo map?
and did you ever tryed to shoot through a door and look on the other side of it and see a Black colored hole on the wall?
OR... Did you even play 2.75 or read the roadmap?

UTProphet : I think it's on the code side. I belive it just judges the wall thickness and then decides if it penitrates. This is the Counter-Strike system, of bullet pennitration. haveing it specified by the level designer Level Geometry, by Level Geometry would make things impossible. :p however penetration could be done by texture to! you could specify that bullets my pennetrate specic textures and not others, like how they make footsteps on some textures, but not others! :)

You know this is why the Desert eagle is so much better, wear armor... stand behind a wall the desert eagle doesn't care, the beretta would get stuck in the wall the eagle would make a nice hole in the wall and in you.
