Well, seeing as you are using lightwave I think there is only 1 possible way for you to do it (if you were using MAX it would be a different story)

I'm no modeller, but I kinda know the procedure so if anyone out there has a better idea, please correct me if im wrong.

I Take it you have made your model? Now go download Milkshape 3d from http://www.swissquake.ch/chumbalum-soft/ Its an ok program, not so good for actual modelling but pretty good for exporting and stuff. Import your model from you lightwave format into MS, then you will need to animate your weapons (look for some tutorails on the website as I dont really know how) Once you've got you anim.s done then export your weapon using milkshapes inbuilt thing that puts it into UT format /infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif You'll also need to learn a bit of coding to get the gun in game too so check out http://unreal.epicgames.com for some beginners stuff.

Well thats about the basics on how to do it (without using MAX) I cant remeber the poly limit for first person view guns but I think its something like 750 polys?

BUT you will not be able to insert your own guns into Infiltrations sadly /infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif I wont go over the reasons why coz I cant be bothered to explain.

Thats just a bit of basic adivise, If you want some more then feel free to mail me /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Okey dokey. Lightwave 3d is a very good modeling program, but unfortunately, it lacks the direct exporting capabilities that 3dsmax has.

There is a well known 3d modelling program, named Milkshape 3d, basically, its a $20 modelling program, and comparing that to the $3000+ cost of Lightwave, you get what you pay for (Read: its a piece of crap).

What you do is import your .lwo into milkshape, unfortunately, the only things imported are the meshes and the surface groups, no UV mapping coords. or animations.

After you get the skins and anims. done (look up tutorials, they're all over the net), all you do is go file->export->UT. This will export all the files the coder needs to get your weapon in-game.

(I won't go into the coding part here).

Nutshell question: How do I get models from LW3D to UT?
Nutshell answer: Milkshape 3d.

PS. I've included an informative 800X600 pic. featuring my baby, my FAMAS.

If you dont know anyone that can do a bit of coding that could help you out then you will most definatly need to learn some of the basics, check outs some hosted planetunreal sites or the unreal tech page that i mentioned before: http://unreal.epicgames.com

Your textures will need to be 256x256x256 BTW

Hope this helps,
Happy modelling /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
