View Full Version : How do I 'advertise' a server ? (and get it to show up in the serverbrowser?)

On my lan I could find and play on the server if I used 'open location' and the correct IP for that server, but it did not show up in the serverbrowser. :(

If you start a multiplayer-game in (regular) UT you only have to check a checkbox that says 'Advertise server'.

But now I use the dedicated server on the 'gameserver'-pc.
What lines do you need to add or change in the Unrealtournament.ini (or infiltration.ini) in this instance ?

I've looked at TheAdminPage & the Inf-specific serversetup-page. Using the info I found there I could get a server up and running using the commandline-arguments shown on the site.

modify this line by changing DoUpLink=False to true:

[IpServer.UdpServerUplink]
DoUplink=False -----change this to true
UpdateMinutes=1
MasterServerAddress=
MasterServerPort=27900
Region=0

- the entire section was missing from the ini-file, so I added those lines

UCC now reports 'uplink succeeded' for several masterservers ...

That's the good news.

I thought that was all there was to it, seems I'm still missing something.

My setup is this :

(internet)
|
v
[cablemodem]
|
v
[PC1] UCC.exe & WinRoute Lite running
|
v
[PC2] UT/Infiltration running

playing on the server on PC1 from PC2 works fine,
however the Infiltration-browser only listed 2 infiltration servers :(
