Nade Mid AIr Collision

Had a wacky online experience yesterday I just had to share.
I shot a grenade from my m203 at a player (mini_me?) and a split second later he shot one as well. Well about 5-10 feet from his head our launched grenades collided and detonated in mid air and killed him)! Twas one of those "whoa" moments, like that scene from "casualties of war".
What are the odds of 2 grenades colliding in mid air like that ?
Maybe next time ill try to shoot the grenade down with a shotgun or MP5 :)

I seem to remember reading about soldiers in one of the world wars using their Winchester Riot/Trench guns (12ga) to shoot down handgrenades...Seems to me that it should be possible, if you can hit clay pigeons why not grenades.

So if you where to hit a grenade in mid-air would it explode?

And tossed grenades moves slower than clay pigeons, but I imagine it must be quite a feat to do in the middle of a battle.
BTW I don't think you can use bullets to shoot down a grenade in INF. Just once, by sheer luck, I had an incoming m203 grenade right in my scope, I fired but nothing happened besides it hitting me right in the head.

I think I had the exact same experience last night. I saw a guy who sent a nade my way, so I naded back and I died from a nade explosion while my nade never made it to him. If I hadn't seen this thread already, I would have freaked.:eek:

Actually, I drop hand grenades all the time and either shottie em to explode em, or nade em, or you can if your stupid enough knife em. It makes a nice big explosion with 5 nades piled ontop of each other going off all at once.:boom:

Its funny when you see someone fly like superman half way across the level when 5 nades go off under them :D

Actually, if you have way too much time on your hands, you can go to the training map, stock up on your favorite ammo and use the drop ammo button to throw it in the air. You can shoot the clips in mid-air. It's kind of fun.
