Hi all,

at first I will say sorry for my bad english, and hope, that you all understand it.

If downloaded last week the map pack from this site in splitt files. Than I would try to extract the file but it dosenīt wok. I used first WINRAR, than WINZIP and at last WINACE, but all the three progs couldnīt extract the files (I started the last one, as it stands in the manual!!). This is really s***, cause I downloaded it with fileplanet, and this site s***. If some one knows a other site, where I can download the maps (not custom maps), I will be very pleased.

Second point:
Cause the map pack dosenīt work for me, I started to download maps from diffrent game servers. This works more or less fine, but, if I look in my map list during the game, I canīt see the new maps, but if I joning a game, where a new map starts, it will work. And I have looked in the map folder (UT\maps and UT\INF_maps), but they are not in it. Thatīs bad, cause Iīm a newbee and I would try to play against bots, to get a little bit better.

I hope, that somebody have understand, what I try to say, and can help me.

Greetings

Grundig

PS: Itīs a very good game, and I say respect to the creators of this game :). Just make further on this game, as bevor.

you can get the files from SOB here: http://files.sobservers.com/Infiltration/InfiltrationUT/INF285/

also, the downloaded maps and textures and whatnot are all stored in a folder called "Cache" they'll have random filenames but there should be a text file in there that tells what everything is. then you can just rename them and move them to their appropriate folders. i reccomend doing this soon as the default setting is for UT to delete them after 30 days, meaning you'll have to download them again.

Thanks Baracus for your help, and for the link you posted.
This with the cache directory Iīll try to check it out.

Also I thank you for the tipp with the 30 days, each downloaded file are exist in UT. This tipp from you saves me lot of time and trouble :).

Cu Baracus (maybe while playing)

Grundig, I think I understand the problem you're having.

The SPLIT files you downloaded were "spanned" by uzing WinZip (or PKZip, etc) and you need to open the LAST file in the archive (i.e Infiltration285-MAPS-UMOD-008.zip) first to unzip them all.

It's easiest if you use WinZip and when you extract, make sure you use the "spanned" setting which is in there somewhere. So open the last file first in WinZip and then extract and you shouldn't have any trouble.

@ GuildBoss

I tried to find this "spanned" function in my WinZip Programm, but I canīt find it. It also said, that the file is an PK file or something like that. I hate packing programs :( !
The hole day I downloaded from diffrent game servers maps for INF, so I have nearly all maps (today I had to much time, hehe).

If you or somebody else have an other methode to open this f*****g splitt files, you can post once more. If not, it doesnīt matter.

Thnx for your help

Hmm, sounds like WinZip doesn't span natively. No problem, you just need to get your hands on PKZip. :-)

Here's the 16-bit version of PKZip for Windows:

Or the DOS version:

Hi GuildBoss,

so, I downloaded the PKZIP-Prog, and tried to unpack the splitt files.
PKZIP said, as I started to extract the last file, that the file has an error. It created a new file, called pkfixed.zip. I started to extract this new file, but PKZIP said: NO FILES FOUND.
But, in my directory, where the zip-files are, is now the INFILTRATION285-MAPS.UMOD file, but when I start it, it comes a new error message:

Critical Error

Canīt find module C:\......\Infoltration285-MAPS.umod

History: USetupDefinition:Init <- WFilerWizard:WFilerWizard <- Setup

I think, the files are defect. Maybe, when I have time, I download the Map-Pack again (this time not in splitt files :)).

Thanks to you guys, for your help, and for the links :).

Cu all

go here and download the UT cache cleaner. u can convert downloaded maps/textures etc into .unr/.utx files (normal unreal maps and texture files)
