With all this TK-kick/prison suggestion floating around I was thinking why people don't use the voting system...

To me it seems plain simple:

You often don't know who's a TK especially when you are on the other team... all you hear is players complaining over chat and extreme TK's can be identified by a negative score.

So my suggestions, which should be considered beside all 'auto-kick TK's mechanisms':

1. Amount of TK's should be listet on the tables (F1)
Numbers could be separated into un-/forgiven if an apologize system is implemented.

2. Let players know who killed them, at least if it was a TK.

I would although appreciate to know which guy killed me if he was from the opposing team. I know this is a feature of original UT and not having it in INF adjacents the team removed it with purpose. Maybe it could be a server option. The question if this is realistic or not is more related to religion/philosophy since non of us has too much experience in dying... ;)

3. Maybe it would also be good to display a TK to everyone in the game to get people using the voting-system... once more this could be a server option.

Thanx for taking interest

I don't think you should show who was responsible for the TK to everyone in the game.
Only his teammates should know that player X killed one of their own.

Also the voting & forgive-system should only allow his teammates to vote ...

// as for knowing who killed you :
That's a religous question indeed.
Nobody really knows what happens when we die, so suggesting that not knowing who killed you is realistic is stupid indeed. ;)
Maybe we do get a message telling us "You were killed by ..." :D

Too many threads about this. This should have been put in one of the existing threads about this exact topic.

Please post there and just let this one fall to the bottom of the thread listing.

Sorry Monk_Zero, but I disagree.

This one is basically suggesting: 'Display the one who killed me and add TK's to the stats...'

This is only loosely related to 'Autokick/imprison Tk's'.
And the problem of replying on one of these threads is that most people don't recognize and keep on replying to the original topic, so I decided to start a new one...

To the Kicking vote:
I never saw the voting system kick in playing online, but if you need 50% votes of all players in the game, to get rid of an as#hole (don't know if it's handled that way) you need the opposing team to vote...

And if you ask me (I know you don't ;)): The forgiving button should only work for the very one that got TKd...

- Of course only the TK'ed player is the only one to know if that TK could be forgiven or not...

- it should be 50% of the players on your side, not 50% of all players, to vote-kick someone.

// Monk_Zero :
I agree with andi2, this idea simply deals with the scoreboard and not with if the penalty for TK's should be jailing autokick/imprisonment. As such it (and every different idea to deal with TK should have it's own thread were the pros & cons of that particular idea can be discussed ...

Instead of complaining & posting => don't post in a thread you don't like ...

Just trying to do my part to keep the discussions focused. It didn't seem too separate from the other threads to me, but I see and agree with your argument.

Discuss on!
