View Full Version : Jail the Tkers!

I came up with the jail system earlier :D

This is an average system...

Someone tk's someone. That person knows it was unlawful. The tker gets a warning. After he TK's someone else, he starts the next round with NO weapons, and has a sign on his head that says "potential teamkiller". Most likely his teammates will waste him.

If he kills three people in the same round, he is kickedoff the server immediatly. If he immediatly rejoins, he still has to wait out anyways.

Banning somone for 20 minutes will suffice. OR...

My jail system :D

A guy (lets use "BOZO" as an exampke) decides it would be fun to TK people. BOZO blows a teammate away. He will get a simple warning from the server. Than he blows someone else awway. The server warns that he will be "jailed" next round.

Jail works like this... you TK 2 or more people, than you start next round in a tiny cell (or you cant move, same thing). You have NO WEAPONS, and cannot move at all. People can blow you away, including your teammates. Now, if you accidentally somehow killed two teammates, one of your teammates can rescue you by touching you. All your weapons will be restored, and you can play the round normall. Or your teammates can leave you to the mercy of the enemy :D

My main gripe with my OWN system :D is that it is pretty complex, and new players will now know what the hell to do. THey will probably free the TKer, who will promptyl kill the newbie, and the rest of the team. However, I think the newbie will learn quickly from his mistake :D

And as I stated earlier, if the Tker just reconnects, he will still be out of that round anyway, so consequently he will suffer anyway. And if he is dense enough to use the same name, you know who to kill next round.

I would REALLY like to here suggestions to this, or complaints with the idea. Please keep flames to yourself, but if you have something intelligent to say, say it to me.

I had offered an idea for the '******* of the game' skin as rather humorous method of dealing with not just TK'ers, but anyone else being an *******. All it is is a special bright orange/yellow skin that stands out against just about anything and glows brightly. The '******* of the game' will spawn somewhere on the map (presumably at random) and is unable to use weapons of any kind. Anyone who frags the '******* of the game' gets awarded mucho points. After getting fragged, the ******* of the game is kicked, maybe banned for some time, and normal play can resume.

As far as whether or not this is realistic, i dunno. Just say that he's a very unfortunate civilian who got caught in the midst of a skirmish and just happened to piss of both sides royally.

And then there's the idea of KP duty. Too many TK's and you get stuck peeling potatos back at home base. You will be unable to participate in combat until your finished peelin'!

How about TKers that TK 3 times get Infiltration uninstalled for them?

Yeah, a bright red fluorescent uniform should suffice... possibly some of the UT models, with no weapons, save maybe a knife and potatoes :)

Gabriel, if that actually happened to people, like would be glorious :D

but the idea has its merits.
The traitor could try to play fair (and maybe even go on a suicide mission to save his teammates).

He'd be at the mercy of his teammates who might or might not forgive his actions.

TK'ing as revenge would become an ordinary kill instead of turning you into a TK'er as well. Some bonus might be a good idea.

But if he kills any of his former teammates => no mercy he is kicked (and his hdd is formatted if he manages to do this in 3 games ;) )

I think that IF multiple lifes are used a TK'er should lose any life he had left instead of his weapons/ammo.

All in all I like the idea.

The only problem I see:

In a serious match (for example clanmatch) the team gets penalized twice (loosing a member and rendering one member useless in the next round).
In these games the accidental TKiller curses himself as much as any teammate and sometimes the one who shot the bullet is not the guilty of the TK (eg. someone crossing his line of fire).

What problem? If you are a team then how did you end up shooting eachother? It's simply due to a lack of communication (most likely).
In a better organised team it wouldn't be as likely to happen.
Blue on blue is a part of the game if your "team" keeps losing people to it then obviously you are not that organised.

I can say this with 99% certainty. Friendly fire and team kills happen in clans as well. And yes it is probably due to lack of communication but Roger Wilco is not as natural as just yelling watch out. For one thing the whole team hears it. And since this even happens in real life it's not so strange that it happens in clans as well. Anyway, the ILCR would probably ask the INF team to have this server side and it wouldn't be used in clan matches anyway.

JaFO, those are some good ideas :D

In some way or another, we must find a way to punish TKer's, whether intentional or mistake. Because even if it was a mistake, it serves no disadvantage, adn actually gives the killer an ADVANTAGE. By killing the other person, and just quickly stating sorry, he killed what might have been a potential threat. He fired without thinking, and that can't be encouraged.

Besides, would make the TKer think twice, now that he is actively hunted by both teams with no weapons :)
