WOHOOOO, puppies and M60A3 head to head after two votes!! :D
Now serious, if you want a machine gun, why is your first option a MBT?? :D
Sorry, had to be..
Aren't you somewhat tired of posting these MG polls? Especially the M60 has been suggested that often, always leading to a discussion of pro-M60 folks and the ones who prefer FN MAG or HK21E or PKM or so. But until now NONE of these weapons is even planned for INF. Doesn't that make some of you think?

Electing a Machine Gun within the margin for error is bad for democracy. :)

Definately something Russian or Eastern-block. It adds some spice to the game, and with more Eastern-made weapons, we could get a West vs East gametype going.

Shakken says you dont get it because no matter how many times you post and poll about another machine gun, its just not going to happen. I like the E3, but its not going to make it in. I want to see the M249 implemented before the team even thinks about a 2nd MG. I sympathize with you, and you can post all you want, but its just not gonna happen.

I'd say go for a PK/PKS. That way we don't have 2 US/NATO Machine Guns.

I'll say it again:
INF doesn't need another MG (in any sort) to be officially planned until the one which is planned (the FN M249 SAW (http://www.planetunreal.com/infiltration/armory/#m249)) is implemented in game, and it is proven that such a weapon can be added to the game in a realistic manner without completely throwing off game balance. Since the team has stated that the reason the M249 is taking time to be implemented is that they are having some difficulty implementing it in a realistic manner (with features like belt linking and such), let's let them get that done before we start complaining about lack of MG options.
Meanwhile, I have big doubts about a poll which is labelled by it's creator as being "Serious" right in the thread topic, yeat contains such lunacy as "Puppy Machinegun" and "I Like Puppies" in it's options.

Now that my rant is over, I'd like to make the sigular statement that I' really like to see many more Eastern Block (former USSR, China, Japan, Middle-East) weapons implemented into INF to add variation to the armoury.

Don't think it will ever happen but how about a compromise: How about 7.62mm Automatic Rifle or two? Something like a RPK or squad support version of the FN-FAL.
Personally I like the RPK as the ammo type is already in the game and I really want more East Bloc weapons.

These are statements I would like to make
#1 I like puppies
#2 this game does not need more MGs if the team dont wanna make MGs.
You guys wanna scream when your favorite does not get put in (I want a 1911-A1 and a sawed off double barrel 12 gauge and I aint gonna get them neither) If you want to code it volunteer. Otherwise when you make a suggestion and the team (or moderators) says no repeatedly then back off for a bit. Let them try to finish what they are doing then if it is successful try again. These guys are doing us a favor in the first place with INF, and I personnally am thankful (INF Rocks so bite me)
There are alot of ways to go about it, screaming it over and over and over and taking up server space with a thousand pols aint gonna do it if the guys cannot get it coded. So while I feel your pain, and as I always say I like to see as much variation as possible that way the game is a real suprise at every corner, just remember these guys are only human and have taken on a massive job at which they are doing well.
Personnally I like the idea of more heavy stuff (would make AS a bear), but you might just have to wait till the vehicle and antivehicle code is finished before you ever get it (of course that or till a very warm place turns very cold, and I aint talkin about Texas)

why not add a anti-personnel weapon in the mix of weapons seeing how the inf. team has covered very well weapons that use bullets. unreal tournament has the bio rifle and unreal fortress has flame thrower\napalm gun why doesn't inf. have a flame thrower or something similar?

Flamethrowers aren't used much, most armies don't use them at all, because they are unreliable, heavy, ineffective and dangerous to your own troops. They're mostly only good for clearing bunkers and trenches, and nowadays there are cheaper, lighter and more effective weapons, such as LAWs etc. that get the job done....
Plus, they are a bitch to code and make them look better than a sprite launcher :) And the impact on framerates isn't all that good either, on my computer, when a grenade goes off, i loose a lot of framerate, i can't even imagine what a flamethower would do, can you spell "lag cannon"?
