INF_core.u version mismatch

I installed INF 2.80 then the patch then the 1.85 map pack, I tried to connect to around 20 servers but all said, INF_core.u version mismatch mismatch. The mod is patched up to the latest release 2.85.3 but still says this, I tried insrtalling the patch again but nothing. And the file wasn't corrupted in the downlaod i'm sure. Can anybody help me plz?
ps. my version of INF_core.u is 6.47MB

You have to disinstall Inf. 2.80 and then install the 2.85 version with the 2.85.3 patch!!

It works!, I didn't have 2.80, I had the full install of 2.85 which I reinstalled and then installed the 2.85.3 patch from the website, the patch I got off a mag CD was exactly the same in size and its effect but there must have been some difference.

Yea I had Pc Zone, but patch file must be corrupt, as I d/l patch and it works!! God damn pretty tasty mod I reckon!
