Ok, I started playing INF Online just short after 2.85 came out. As I'm still on a 56K I got pings around 350 and connection losses all over.

After trying various speed-up software, reading several tweaking guides (tweaking everything except for UT since I found close to nothing how to improve UT network speed) I managed to get pretty decent pings. On european servers I get an average ping of 220 (alltime low: 159 on an half empty server)

But tweaking nearly every connection related windows setting didn't help to get rid of these fu%#ing connection losses. (When you see these nasty little connector-symbol in the right of the screen, that you probably know from lan-parties when some drunken moron tripped over your wire...:D)

When this occurs, sometimes still pings around 220 are displayed, sometimes values around 4000. THIS HAPPENS ALMOST EVERY MINUTE, I'm still able to move but get 'teleported' back to my original position when connection is back to normal. When I'm still alive afterwards I often can't use all fuctions. Randomly I can't shoot, stand up, reload, aim whatever... this sucks!!!!!

I never had these problemes playing Q3 or HL/CS online (never tried vanilla UT)

Does anyone have a clue??? I've already tried 7 (Read 'seven') different ISP's but it's all alike. What pings do you get? (You T3 & Cable guys better not post your ping, I'm already envious :D)

If you don't know how to fix it just tell me your average ping on 56K and if you often experience connection problems (see this damn plug symbol in the right part of the screen)

I know I can't be the only one left with an ancient dial-up modem...

I have pings mostly around 250-500.

In my opinion my pings are too high, so I don't play very much online... :(

I hate this *beep* 56k modem!
