I'm no mapper, far from it, but i think i have a good idea for a map, for anyone who cares.
The Map is a stadium. like a football stadium, a large feild, like a huge open fighting arena. then the stands, different elevations of hardcore fighting. Maybe a secret way to get to the Skybox, the perfect sniping spot. If you wanted to go more indept you could make the extra areas like the concession stands, and the bathrooms, ticket booths, things like that. /~unreal/ubb/html/smile.gif this is all just an idea, and i think its pretty good and possible.

What would you like it to be? DM? DOM? AS? I would think CTF would be more suited. /~unreal/ubb/html/smile.gif
However, the design would have to take into account, gameplay. There HAS to be some sort of 'reward' for going into other areas.

either DM or CTF, hmm, an open CTF map, not a very tried idea, like having the flags and bases on opposite ends of the feild, in the skybox maybe, that way the entire field is open to battle,it would be really hard to get the flag back. /~unreal/ubb/html/smile.gif sounds fun, but i luv DM, either way.

This kind of map however would be limited to the number of players as it would become absolutely crazy with firing. However, at east campers would not be able to play.

Thats what i was thinking, this map would create a furious, nonstop, fighting enviroment, kill or be kill, no chance to stop and smell the rotting flesh of fallen comrades /~unreal/ubb/html/smile.gif. It would be a large map cause football stadiums are rather large (10-16 player maybe), so its not like you would be bumping elbows or anything.

Well while i'm spewing off ideas i have one for a mutator too. Its Judge Dredd, Dred, oh who cares, Gun. His gun could change firing modes at his will, Like shooting rockets,auto fire, normanl fire. this is my idea, make a weapon that uses the enforcer to fire all of the other ammo types. Enforcer firing the minigun,rocketlauncher,pulsegun, and all the others.

Anyone think of Stadium from Duke Nukem? Low polys and fast game play. Might not look the best but it would certainly play the best. To get the right scaling, you could lower the zone gravity just a bit so it is just like Duke3d. /~unreal/ubb/html/smile.gif

i started a basket ball stadium map in the begining of this year, but i didnt really continue with it because the poly count got too high, and i couldnt zone it because the stadium was too big, also there was a limitation with the editor that it wouldnt make enough rows of seats, and i also had a small scale problem where the player was the size of one step /~unreal/ubb/html/smile.gif
so , dont make the same mistakes i did, and if i do it again , i will start from scratch

Right, three things:
i) You nicked my name! :-)
ii) FatAss is right - careful planning would have to take place, to make sure the poly count wasn't too high. It would only really be suitable for a DM, coz if it was a CTF, snipers would annihilate everyone, in DOM, you just ran and hope you make it to the CP, and In *** , well, it just wouldn't work.
iii) Finally, it is V simialar to the maps I made for Q2 when i was about 11 (i am only 14 now!):- Huge areas, full of bad guys, and you jst kept you finger on thr trigger and hoped you fragged. You would really need to think carefully about it. I f you could pull it off, it would be fantastic. For instance:
Anyone got Half Life TFC? Well, if you turned it into a little like a CTF 2Fort that would be great.
For the benifit of those who haven't got 2fort, here it is:
At opposing areas of the stadium, have a high "commentator" box, for Defence, sniping and where the flag is. Now, you would have to fight you way up there, but not on the pitch. You would have to fight your way up the stalls, then up into the com. box.
Now, once you have got it, you can either take a short cut and jump outta the window (expence of some health) or fight your way back down again.
The pitch is a large, bland expance of land, which is open to sniping. Your teamates would have to human shields. It could get really tense.

Just to clarify a couple of contradictory points:
i) I said it could only be a DM map, and then go on and say it would be greatfor CTF. What i meant was without alot of work, it could only be a DM, but with loads of work and planning it could be a CTF.
ii)Umm. Forgotten what this point was. HMm...
