You find a corpse and can "switch" camos with the corpse. Of course this would take some time, enough time to make this undesirable in most situations. (for example this would not be a useful thing in a map like MWH:p) When you "switch" teams you will still be listed on the player list under your origional team. But your name and camo will show up to other players as if you are on the new team.

Of course this is a powerful thing, but again, the time it would take to switch clothes would make it useless in many situations. You could counter this by knowing who is on your team and gunning corpses till they disappear.

In a deathmatch game this is almost useless, but in a team game like CTF or ASSULT i think this would be a neat little thing to mess with.

And that is all the monkey told me...

Cool Idea, But the team damage needs to be fixed so there's no choice in it, always 100%, that way this makes it kinda undesirable that way, BTW, I often check my F1 stats...and I see you sneaking around in my pal's uni, I might drop a nade down those pants for ya!

This might be just something fun to play with...but we need more camos...and what about females ;)

Well, as to the team kill thing, if you are really playing with a "team" they will know you are a spy because you would have told them so.. "Hey guys i'm a spy, don't shoot me. I'l be *gives coordinates of position and where you are going to be*" TK as a spy isn't even an issue. And as a spy you would still communicate with your orginal team, so you could report to em if you'd like.

And for the bloodstains.. Advantage to knowing how to aim in inf is to kill a guy with a headshot. No blood on the cloths. Now i know not many people can do that, so you would put on bloody cloths. New textures would have to be made for a "blood stained" version of the camo. So if you don't kill em good then you really aren't gunna wanna run around in blood soaked cloths. And if you shoot em in torso, the pants are still good. And vise versa.

Maybe you could have a "corpse option" thing where you could choose what to take from the body. I know they are doing some kinda inventory thing. Among the inventory items you could take their pants or shirt... Depending on which one is good, or both. That would be funny to me, to see a guy running around in one teams shirt and the others pants.... Would you shoot em in the appropriate area as to what team you are on? or just fall out of your chair laughing?

I was half joking when I made that statement.

Anywho

I don't think it really fits in with the scope of the game to switch camos and play a spy.
Uniforms are only an extension of different traits of two opposing forces (like language and physical characteristics).

In a team game a "spy" type person fits very well i think. You send in a spy to infiltrate the defense and find out what they are doing/stop what they are doing. A spy could give away enemy position ect... And if i am correct, the game is going more towards a "team" aspect, with the new gametypes and all. If that is what you ment by the "scope of the game", a spy would be a very useful thing in infiltration. Unless it is never gunna change from deathmatch.

I even used the name of the game to describe what a spy would do :p it has to fit!

Although, i am a cow, and i support the very unpopular opinion, i am prob just blabing crap.

*calls for gun boy and leaves the room*

Oh and Gabriel, when i say team, i mean communication. A team can't exist without communication, so if you are really playing a team game, you would never tk your friend poping up around a corner. That is a serious lack of communication :p

Hey Cow, Guess what, I'm not gonna take the 5 seconds to type "Hey guess what, Who's that in nemey camo I see?"

Nuh uh, Just like in real life, If an enemy pops around a corner, a solider will shoot, Depending on what you mean by comunication, then that is immpossible, I play with some good people on INF on saturday mornings, but I have still accidentally popped people comign aroudn the corner, it's a natural reflex, and more often than not it has saved my life, I see a flash of enemy color I shoot, just like in real life, if you wanna spend the 5 seconds and type a "who's there?" message then fine by me, but if there is a guy walking around the corner in enemy clothing, who here would actually do that? and miss the oppurtinity of killing the guy before he kills you?

I know I wanna live through the game, so I'd kill him. TK's happen, and if your wearing the enemy camo then yeah, It will happen more often.

you can't communicate via typing in inf, it is too much to do at once. You have to use some voice stuff, that is what i ment.

If you are constantly talking to your team, you won't pop around a corner like that. I'm not saying TK would never ever happen. I'm just saying that on the topic of a "spy" TK wouldn't be any more of an issue then it is now, if you are playing as a team.

Hell ya, if you put a spy into a DM game like we all play now, he is gunna get gunned down by his own team no prob...

But i'm talk'n the spy for diff game types, it wouldn't be used in a DM game.

Dude, I can't use voice com! never thought of that did you, not everyone has the soft/hard-ware to do it, my sound card does not support dual mode voice transfer. IE It can't transmit and receive voice at the same time like the battle com stuff does. But now you say I can't play a real team game without it? I've played UnF for a while with my team through text for a while, and we've done some crazy team stunts, including mass frag grenade drops on one spot, not to mention our aquatic assault team, of which I am a member, scout/demoman of our AAT, so really, Playing a real team game requires something like Roger Wilco?

Take two teams, equal skill in players. One communicates via typing and the other via voice.

The team typing doesn't stand a chance. The team that is typing is less of a team because the level of communication isn't there.

Pretty simple concept, it happens to be more of a popular opinion among the ilcr..

I hate to inform you of this, but if you play with a GOOD team then they understand things like RWC, ^, U, corn, and so on, I can communicate efficiently within my team with 1 second gibberish, because my team knows what we are all gonna do. we play the maps, we know the maps, we know our roles, so we all go to do our jobs..

when the SAW comes out for INF (soon isa hopesa!) that will be my job, just as in UNF I will e the Heavy Gunner for my team, and I will play a defensive/heavy support role.

When your a good team, communication is a moot point.

Your 1 second of typing is all it takes for someone to shoot you dead. In your example, you would be hindered against someone using voice.

This isn't even an argument, there is no way communicating with typing could possibly contest talking.

I'm gunna goto bed now, I didn't think posting an idea for a game would cause a problem. I wish i could have done a closed topic. next time i'll just email straight to the team, avoid the forum bs.
