UT on Windows2000

I just installed win2000 for the first time and im having problems with UT. Its a P3 667 EB on a Tyan Trinity 400 Motherboard, 256 Meg PC133 RAM, SB Live! Soundcard, 30 Gig Maxtor ATA66 7200RPM, and a 32 Meg DDR Radeon.

All sounds in the game sound fine except for gunshots. for some reason they sound really muffled and it sounds distorted. anyone else have this problem and know how to fix it?

Should i be able to run the game with this setup at 1024x768 with all detail set to medium? The game has a totally different feel to it and performance is lacking.

anyone have a good list of win2000 tweaks for the radeon and for windows2000 and for UT?

2000 and Unreal do not get along in my exp.

My biggest gripe is running multi dedicated server in win2k.

the 2000 creeping ping bug bit me in the behind at both my lan parties. I hate win2k. For crying out lowd i set up a ut server in frecking linux i was so mad at window 2000 and it sstupid problems. I still have not figured out how to stop win2k creeping ping prob.. and yess i have bEnable=False till my face has gone ut red

Linux is better and you will not hear me say that often. I set it up in linux and the command line and stuff is basically the same.

Next tango lan it will be linux 100% for ut!!!

Btw The first place for the 1vs1 was a 256 133 stick of ram.

I am sorry you had trouble in win2k man but you should hear what it took for me to get a driver that worked with my voodoo 3 3000 so i could play full screen ut.
