View Full Version : Which HL maps would you like to see in UT?

Before UT came out, Half-Life Team Fortress was my favourite FPS. UT is a far superior game but I miss some of my favourite HL maps.
I've already recreated Stalk Yard using the UnrealEd and I was wondering if any former Half-Life fans would like to see any of their own favourite maps rebuilt into UT?

that was my favorite map in HL, only it was user made,

I liked a lot of those TFC maps tho, someone shold make a TFC mod for UT!

Can you do Crossfire(x-fire) and make it assaultish or just teamp\deathmatch, also I like x-fire2 that would be great. For the artillery strike you could use several redemmers. He He. PPPPPPPPPPPPPPLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Xfire is one of my fav' maps too. I was gonna build it but then I had a thought. In Xfire about 90% of the map is constantly in vision. I'm not sure how well it would run in UT. I tried something similar a while back but it ran so poorly that it made my 450Mhz machine look like a 486...DOH!!!

Think I'll have a go anyway.

BTW, there are two placement guns in Xfire. I won't be able to add those to the level 'cause I don't have a clue how to /~unreal/ubb/html/frown.gif

I think you can put the artillery in. The guy who made as-terrain has positioned weapons that can't be moved but can be used, ask him. next Frame-rate beats me. http://www.planetunreal.com/realworld/main.html mike.y@zetnet.co.uk this guy made as-terrain and knows how to make ladders and positioned weapons

I haven't been able make a start on Xfire 'cause I'm still putting the finishing touches to my last map plus college work is getting me down. I'll probably make a start on it at the weekend.

Do 2fort! Or better yet, maybe even Cz2, or 2rock. Basicly any of the stock maps that came with HL TFC. May have to make a few little additions tho /~unreal/ubb/html/smile.gif

I love Subtransit but UT doesn't do trains... sigh

One of my favourite things is to just run people over with the train at the station where the Gluon gun is... especially when I go at them backwards and the llamas think "He's got to reverse, there's only one reverse speed, I'm safe... SPLAT!

Wait a minute.....I know the Unreal engine can do trains - there was a massive "space station" type third-party single-player map for Unreal that featured a tram that would take you all the way across the map - and don't forget the boat in the canyon, or in the Temple of Vandora. Those are basically the same.

You probably can't control the trains like you can in HL, but you could probably solve that by putting 2 switches on the train car that control its movement.

There was a map in old Unreal that was apparently a convert from Quake2 perhaps... and showed up in Q3ADemoTest (*snork* that name still cracks me up) called Longest Yard, or Longer Yard.

Not what you were asking for, but I would like to see it again anyway /~unreal/ubb/html/smile.gif.
