You can use an AttachMover. If your lift is an ElevatorMover, you're going to have trouble: you have to either use the (buggy) MixMover or try writing an ElevatorMover subclass.

Well, there are several different types of movers. When you add the mover, you can select the type by right clicking on the Mover button. Select AttachMover. Then set its AttachTag to the same value as the Tag of your Light.

You'll notice that you won't be able to attach a simple light. You'll have to change a couple of lines in it's Advanced properties:
