Could anyone assist me on this? After playing UT for 2 mos. or so, i kinda got tired with the idea of having to go through the intro of UT when strarting the game...likewise choosing the game from the browser or selection list...Is there a way so i could skip the intro and jump into the map i wanted just clicking on the icon?...
One more thing, can i change the intro text when precaching ("Tournament Deathmatch...30 Frags...PressFire to Start...The Match has Begun")...How??Please Help!

1. Open up C:\UnrealTournament\System\UnrealTournament.ini
2. Change the local map line to match the one in the attached image.
--------------------
If you want to just load UT and play a map straight away then:
1. Open C:\UnrealTournament\Maps
2. Right click on the map you want to play and click "Play this Unreal level"
--------------------
Yes you can, i'm not sure whether it is in an *.ini file in the UT system directory or whether you have to recompile some unreal script.

Is there anyway to jump straight to the UT Desktop without having to hit "esc" at the black screen with "unreal tournament"?

Phierce:
You can by changing the line from UT-Logo-map to:
Entry.unr
or
UTCredits.unr
i'm not sure which (try both) but be warned not all the packages may load in the correct order or something like that (that's why i suggested UT-Logo-Map)
Maor:
Open all the different *.ini files in C:\UnrealTournament\System and search for a line saying "30 frags" or "Tournament Deathmatch" or whatever you want to change and try modifying and then running UT just make sure you make a copy of what ever you change.
Scipting part works like this, all the different game types have different pre-game messages (eg CTF might have "3 flag captures" and DM has "30 frags").
These messages were probably scripted not entered in an ini file (but you might be lucky). You can easily export all the code and make your own gametype like "Maor's Deathmatch". This would be very easy to do, it would only require about 10 lines max for each separate gametype, plus another 1 line per custom message.
If you want to give it a try go here:
