After close to 2 years of continuous service and
over 2 million registered users, Firetalk
Communications is preparing to shut down the
Firetalk Service towards the end of March, 2001.
Out of respect to our loyal user base, we will make
every effort to provide 24 hours notice if
circumstances dictate shutting down sooner.
Like so many Internet start-ups that have been
adversely affected by market conditions, Firetalk
Communications has found it difficult to realize
enough revenue to justify the continuance of our
popular consumer services, Firetalk Basic and
Firetalk VQ.
Firetalk Communications pioneered the integration
of web, text, and internet voice communications
with the Firetalk application and service. We
strongly believe in the future of converged
applications and now believe that the best way to
deliver such services is through telephony and
data carriers, who can best provide integration
with the phone system. Firetalk Communications is
shifting its business strategy from a consumer
service to an outsourced managed service for
carriers. The company is returning to its parent
corporate name, Multitude, Inc. More information
