I just went from a Voodoo 3 3000 (16MB) to a 32MB Elsa Gladiac video card. The card is obviously better and faster, however, UT looks like crab in D3D or OpenGL, when compared to running it in Glide. I'm thinking of going back to my Voodoo card since UT is what I usually play. Any suggestions, or is this the thing to do? Thanks ahead of time.

I have a Voodoo3 2000 at the moment and am content with it. A friend as a Voodoo5 5500 and is even more content with it. I suggest you wait till the graphics cards that are now really expensive have dropped a bit.

Could you take some pics of your screen? I'm interested to see what they look like. I have an ELSA Gladiac Ultra 64MB DDR. It's the same manufacturer, though, so I might be able to help. Need to see your screen tho. Send any pics you take to nverxion@cfl.rr.com. They can be large files cause I'm on cable, just make sure they are JPEG images. You will have to convert them. If you take a lot please zip them up before sending them:)

But since NVidia acquired 3dfx, expect to see new drivers with Glide included. :)

I went from a V3 3000 16mb to a GeForce2 GTS 32mb w/ 4x AGP.
UT may look like sheit because it was made for Glide. With your card, if you can put it in 32 bit, that'll help BIG time.
For like Deus, 16 bit looks like crap, but 32 is nice. Although, I can't handle 32 bit that well in Deus. Too slow.
UT rocks on my sys now, that video card is a blessing.

"Yes. Glide is dead. Nobody is writing any new code aimed at Glide. There are just some games on the market still taking advantage of it, so it will be a little while before the thing is fully buried. But I can assure you developers are doing their best to shovel dirt on the grave, and it we ever see the deceased try to claw its way out, we will whack it back down."

What are they going to make or already have out there that replaces Glide, cause Glide is already good for UT, but like somebody else said before this, it is good for some games, and others its not.
