Why wont the bots play on my map? They port in and then just hang out. They won't explore. They are not a lot of fun this way.

(UnreadEd Experienced People's version): The bot's AI ahs no pathnode to link up to,

(Normal People with not as much time on their hands version): They have nowhere to go


Solution: in the actors-navigationpoint section there are path nodes, right click in the 3d area and add these, the bots will follow them! It works, for big maps they're a neccessity, mini maps don't need any as the bots are smart enough to go after Enemies, I've recently created a map that is rather large for 4 players, i'm still tweaking but it is so large that without pathnodes to follow or a human to follow the bots camp around the spawn points and chat, Not what the map's meant for, it's meant as a hunting level.

You must pathnode the level carefully then do a paths rebuild...

Also if there are no pickups on the level they won't go anywhere usually...

Hey chris, how do I get the view to see my paths? I have been searching aroudn but I can't find it, I've seen it done before too, All I ever see are the little apple path-nodes.

Well, I'm not Chris, but I can tell you. If you have UnrealEd 2.0, click on the appropriate window's toolbar, go under view and click Show Pathnodes. In UnrealEd 1, I think there's a View menu in each viewport anyway, do the same thing here.
