HELP!!! NVIDIA TNT2 INPUT LAG PROBLEM... HELP!!!

I'm getting that lame response lag problem with my computer...

Dell 550 PIII, 256MB ram, Diamond v770 (TNT2) 32MB, 10GB HD, etc.

Freshly installed Win2k on my reformatted HD, installed UTfrom the CD, updated it to 436, and bam... Response / INPUT LAG... (where you move the mouse and it takes about a second to do the movement that you made)

HELP!!!
