I'm thinking of updating this level i built a while ago. Any ideas would be appreciated. It got a 6.5 at GT. I like it, but I wouldn't mind some ideas to make it better. Thanks. Here's the link to the map:

A couple of ideas/advices:
You should use more textures. That brick texture is a bit repetitive.
You should add more detail to those corridors. Try placing wooden pillars into it or wooden panels to the ceiling.
Make your geometry a bit more interesting. If people see too many squary rooms they'll get confused and after a while... bored.
Consider making a new skybox.
Your item placement is very good!

Why don't you add coronas to all of those lanterns. They look cool. And one more thing: use more colored lightning.
(Not fully blues or reds please :) )

Yeah, thanks for the info. Like I said, it was one of my first maps, so it is pretty basic. The skybox sux arse definitely, at least the mountains do anyway. The rest of the stuff should be an easy fix, add some trim (hehe, i said trim), and make it a little more interesting visually with some colored lighting. Thanks again.

When are you planning to release it?
I'd like to see it when it's finished. I liked Skytown in Unreal and I think your map would be a cool one if you would update it...

Probably in about a week. I'll import my skybox from one of my other levels, so that will take five minutes, then the other stuff should take a day or so, plus I'm going to update the bot pathing with UED2's bot pathing, so it should be more solid as well (the bots get killed by the elevator a little too often). I'll send it to you first so you can give me some more feedback before I release it. Thanks again.
