View Full Version : Importing IT files

After messing around with ModPlug Tracker for awhile I came up with some music I was satisfied with. It was saved as an IT (impulse tracker) file, if it matters. I imported it into UED2 via the music browser, and things got a little weird... the drums in the song are totally screwed up, and the panning effects are lost. Is this a known phenomenon, that IT files don't work or something? I noticed that UED will only export S3M's, does that mean it only supports that format?

S3Ms are more compatible...
I don't know why, so don't ask. Try converting the file into S3M format.

I don't think it's possible to convert.. I chose to make it in IT because s3m's are so much more limited...

What tracker did you use?

I for myself can say that UED2 just works very well with *.IT format, exept that not all effects are useable within Unreal.

All the music files I exported were in *.IT format.

I used ModPlug Tracker (www.castlex.com).

EmZee, what about drums? Do your drums import properly?

Well I think I found the problem. Apparently in ModPlug Tracker it doens't matter what notes you assign to drums, but when importing it into UED, it matters. :)

Check some of the built-in tracks to see how they were done.
Modplug supports UMX format.
